I can't even remember why I started years ago. Also: what are some good websites with supporting evidence to convince family members who are making intelligent cases against it ?
if you go on youtube and type in 'marijuana history', there are tons of videos that explain the history of why it is illegal etc etc and the myths about damage it does to your health etc etc and the truth on medical benefits. Show them one of those videos, bare in mind the full videos are over 30 minutes, but worth it. and also : http://www.jackherer.com/ the website itslef is good but also has plenty of links
You dont have to smoke it. There are pros and cons to everything although I personally think the pros outweigh the cons with cannabis. I would let your parents read this: http://norml.com/index.cfm?Group_ID=5442 http://norml.com/index.cfm?Group_ID=3417 http://norml.com/index.cfm?Group_ID=5441
My parents were never ok with me smoking pot, although they don't do anything about it these days, unless I'm completely blatant about out. Originally they had so many reasons why I shouldn't smoke, and I had no reason to smoke other than it felt good. That reversed over time. I now have hundreds of reasons why pot should be legal and why its a better choice than alcohol, and the only problem my parents have with me smoking is that its illegal. I actually wrote an english paper my english year on why pot should be legal.. Wow, I feel like a wrote a book. I wrote this over about an hour and a couple bong rips.
I'm taking a break from marijuana for a good while, but I'm not telling most of my family and friends. I'm going to see if people notice anything. I think I smoke because I enjoy the feeling, its a fun social activity, and it makes you appreciate stuff more like music and the outdoors. Also it makes me rethink and take a good look at myself because I tend to get arrogant, but along with that can come second guessing and of course paranoia. The paranoia thing is most concerning to me and my family, there have been a few times where my thinking becomes too far from reality but that could be stress and everyone has there bad moments and mental breakdowns. I don't think my family really cares about the legal status or the numerous benefits of hemp, just the affects on the brain. "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." We know sooo little about the brain, and there are two distinct sides - yes it affects the brain negatively and no its safe. I mean THC is a mild form of acid and that can change yourself and your personality forever, even driving people insane. Are there any articles or studies showing evidence that it doesn't affect the brain negatively?
best advise yet. Its on youtube, The Union, The Business Behind Getting High, unfortunatley all of the clips on youtube are REALLY badly delayed so the video lags after the sound... But the audio is fine to listen to. Besides that I cant really recomend anything specific but its out there...
Anything is bad in excess, even caffeine. I drank way too much coffee over a six month period and my stomach was fucked and I had to stop for a bit. Weed is not bad at all unless you use it 24/7
