Why is pink floyd so fuckin awesome

pink floyd is the best msuic i have ever heard. Its like freakin insane! tell me why do they kick so much ass!

As for why Pink Floyd is so awesome, it's because great lyrical skills came together with great musical skills in a band that refused to do the ordinary.

Then how in the hell can you like them so much? I don't get that... they're post-Syd stuff was okay, but not great by any means.

 

Well you do gotta remember Syd was only on for 1 1/2 albums, and it was the post Syd stuff they became famous with.

 

they're amazing. i like their musical skills more than i like their lyrical. i'm not saying that their lyrics aren't good. but their music is trés amazing.

 

I love pink floyd. start to current, all good. but to skew the thread a bit I like pink floyd because she has nice dreads and pretty breasts.

 

I kind of used to think the same thing when i was your age....then I checked out some music that wasnt mainstream. Now I hardly listen to Floyd, though I still like their early stuff (67-72). But there are definatly lots of music out there that are just as good, and better. You'll find out eventually. :H

 

Yeah... I wouldn't say that Waters' lyrical skills are anything special.

Waters wrote most of the lyrics from 69-79. and he and Gilmore sung most of them too.

 

oh I expect if you research that " fact " you will find he did not.

 

he did write the wall.

 

yeah i think all of it except "young lust" , and maybe another, i forgot. I no longer own the album. But up until that point he was the main songwriter. I never even bothered checking out the stuff after that. I dont even know why im replying in this thread. I dont exactly consider myself a floyd fan anymore.

 

as soon as waters became the primary song writer the band broke up.

wait a minute. So you're saying they lied on all of the albums as to who wrote the lyrics? The copyrights to the songs are wrong? They gave the copyrights to Waters because...what, they didn't want people to know the others wrote them? its strange someone would want to do that. looking through most of my Floyd cds it says "all lyrics by Roger Waters". Bastards. They shouldn't have lied to us. Who did this? I want his name!

 

Roger wrote all the lyrics on Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut, but that doesn't mean anything on who wrote the music, especially on Dark Side of the Moon.
