Seems like no matter what activity humans are involved in, no matter how high minded and idealistic the 'scene', people will invariably turn it into a pissing contest and use some measure, some ruler, to look down their noses at other people and think they're better than someone else.

At the grocery it's who is buying better food, or doing better shopping.
At the library it's who knows more about books.
In jail it's who's the bigger criminal.
In church it's who's more devout.
    In the gym it's obvious.
In traffic it's who drives faster or has a better car.
In the club it's who can dance 'better.'
In school it's who brown noses harder or is smarter.
In the yoga studio it's who is the human pretzel.
In the hostel it's who is more widely traveled.
In the airport it's the same as above.
In the street it's simply who looks better.
I the vape lounge it's who has the best / biggest rig.
In the orgy it's who can last longer (men) or who moans the loudest (women).
In the neighborhood it's whose house / yard is nicer.
On the trail it's who has more experience backpacking.
    Etc. You get the idea.

This used to bother me quite a bit.
Seemed like everywhere I went I was being pissed upon.
"Dog and Gods alike delight to piss on me."

Now, I'm feeling better but still think this is mainly the case.
As Kurt said, Am I the only one?

I don't feel competitive, I feel like I'm being judged.

Or did, now I'm on meds (lol) for anxiety and don't really have a problem with it.

I mean, I still think it's 'out there' but it no longer cripples me.
