Is it because the Hip-Hop enthousiasts are hiphopping to the rhythm of the music or maybe because this particular style of music was originally called Hop, but was later made hip by some of the coolest musicians in the world? Or maybe some other reason? Enlighten me, hiphopsters!
I wonder why you post here if you have no idea. I asked a specific question and expect a specific answer.
"The origin of the term "hip-hop" itself is unclear; but, over time, the term has taken on a life of its own. The movement that later became known as "hip-hop" is said to have begun with the work of DJ Kool Herc in the early 70s, while competing DJ Afrika Bambaataa is often credited with having invented the term "hip-hop" to describe the culture. A variety of mythical etymologies and complex meanings have been attached to the term and continue to propagate within the hip hop community." From Wikipedia. Why post such a pointless topic when you could have looked on the internet. Happy ?
Thanks, but it is not really the kind of explanation I was expecting. I was hoping to hear a great story about slavery and stuff like that.
Well, I would have. But you know, I should really only be answering the question that was in the name of the thread. I'm sorry. Hahaha.
