Why I Think Legalization Will Not Hapen

Has anyone noticed that public schools have taken a very close minded view on drugs, and make all drugs, including weed, sound like horrible evil things. As long as this continues the non drug users(90% of the population) Will never consider that marijuana isn't as bad as they were taught in school.

Bust since im bored and its 2:30am here... ill give a good reply. We dont want weed legalized, we want it decriminalized. If it were legalized, it would be in the hands of the government like ciggarets and booze, and taxed to hell, like ciggarets and booze (not so much booze tho). But having it decrimnalized, aka: not legalized, but not illegal to a certin point, would just make the plant... there.... thus giving us the right to use it in any way we see fit, as long as we still follow the current decrim law, such as for example, they say 2 plants for every adult in teh house, or up to 2 ounces on you on the streets, and cant smoke in public places or 100 feet from a school or courthouse or police station, etc, u get the idea. But private use in your home or in places like a bar would be perfectly fine.

Hope you would actually benefit us with a good reason for your theory next time.

 

I think growing/selling marijuana should be regarded the same as growing/selling tomato's.
By keeping marijuana illegal as it has, the gov't has "let the genie out of the bottle". Too many people know how to grow & cure it for the gov't to take over.
I spend approx. 10 bux per pound of quality buds for my outdoor grow. If the gov't/archer-daniels-midland can beat that price and quality then I'll buy it from them.

When I was in high school I was taught that marijuna was evil and lead to heroin addiction.
Then I tried it and found out I had been lied to.
Which led me to reject lots of shit the gov't was trying to shove down my throat, like saying we had to kill a million Vietnamese or they would turn us into commie's.

20 years ago, at the height of the d.a.r.e./just say no era, my little neice and nephew were indoctronated into thinking marijuana was evil and led to heroin addiction. They too tried it as young adults and found out the gov't lied to them. Which led them to reject more gov't lies, like saddam was buddies with osama and had WMD.

I don't think marijuana will ever be fully legalized, at least not in my lifetime. What I believe what will happen, and what I WANT to happen nation-wide, is that smoking/growing will be so decrim-ed as to be on the same level as spitting on the sidewalk or smoking a cig at a bar.
Which is pretty much how it is in Calif. right now, as far as smoking it is concerned. And in many jurisdictions they don't bust small grows. Well they may bust them, but they don't prosecute. And few people are busted for sales, cause the narcs are too busy with meth. Cops out here aren't concerned with Mr. B selling a pound of plants to Mr. C, not when a block away someone is cooking up meth in a house with kids.

Example: a local man, Mr. A. got busted 3 times in 4 months for cultivation. Each time he was busted for having 50 plants, each time he was arrested he was released O.R.
When he got to court they rolled all 3 charges together and he was convicted.
His sentence--a year's probation.
The judge said "Mr. A., the court has more important things to do; get yourself a prescription."

When total decrim comes to your town, look for pot smoking to lose some of it's allure.
In Holland, when full decrim occured, use of pot WENT DOWN. A Dutch gov't official said "We have suceeded in making marijuna boring."
I find myself missing some of the "secret crime" aspects of smoking pot. You know, peeping and hiding, secret codes, etc.
I mean I'm glad people aren't going to jail for it anymore here, but it's become so commonplace out here that it's about as exciting to score an eighth as it is to buy a 6-pack of Miller's at 7-11.

 

I think more than 10% of the population uses...it's something like 60,000,000 Americans alone...

I like how they show it as pure evil in school and NOBODY in my classes second guess them...because...apparently they don't realize, there has to be SOMETHING good coming out of it haha
