Why I Oppose Tattoos

In my view tattoos are generally vulgar and unnatural. I know this will piss off some people, but I think some people would agree with my point of view.

Tattoos are permanent, whereas the fashion of tattoos and especially certain types of tattoos is temporary.

I often see gorgeous or very cute girls with tattoos. It detracts from their cuteness, more often than not. Fashions tend to have a perverting effect on people, and tattoos are no exception.

Why put blackish or bluish ink stains over soft, smooth, youthful skin? When I make love to a woman, I want to see her delectable milky skin against my body, not some cheap graffiti.

Rarely have I seen tattoos that I have liked: some I admit look good or even cute, especially if they are small and can be easily concealed.

I hope this form of body mutilation will pass as a fashion statement.

 

And I hope being a dick will pass as a fashion statement.

Tattoos aren't just "fashion statements" or "temporary". Tattoos have existed in many cultures since the begining of time. Celts, Vikings, Africans, Aztecs, Mayans, Samonian... all of these cultures used tattoos in various ways. Check the facts before making a statement, eh?

Why would you come on a forum specifically geared towards people with tattoos and peircings and rip on it if your purpose wasn't to be a dick?

 

i sordove agree, i have never really cared for tatoos.....

 

no kidding. that's like going into the gay forum and telling them that they're all "sinners" for being gay.
some people get tatoos because it means something to them, or they're getting it to remember a certain important time in their life. just like a regular picture, but it has a special meaning to these people.
or they may want to share their beliefs with the world using the body they were given.
it is in no way a fashion statment at all. like icetea said, it's been around for centuries. it's not going anywhere.

I don't have a problem with the cultural ways of certain groups. I do have a problem with some girls (and guys) who feel that they can't be cool unless they get a tattoo.

There was a thread about a guy regretting getting a tattoo, because it might hinder his career prospects. Every wonder why? Because it is not professional for people to be getting certain tattoos. Certain tattoos just don't look good. Too many young people are getting tattoos that they will regret.

I knew someone would flame me.

 

i like more tribal ....simple designs ...and mostly black

i think they can enhance the body ....but too many can over whelm

but to each there own.....and if you don't like a woman with tats ...find one with out and move on....

 

I am talking about the ditzy college girls imitating each other with silly tattoos on their lower backs. I can't imagine these having sentimental value.

Thats why i have mine to remember a time in my life where i may never get that feeling again. So just in case its always there chillin on my arm when i need a dose of the good times.

Tatts don't bother me, but l certainly wouldn't ever have one on my body..

 

I have quite a big tattoo on the torso myself and I love tattoo art, but I also think that it became kind of hip and that there are a lot of people that get a tattoo for fashion reasons and to be "cool".
When I go to a trance festival these days, almost everybody wears a tattoo and that hadn't been like that when I got mine in '93. Not that I think it is a bad thing, but it is definetely noticeable, that there was a huge increase of people that get tatts in the last five years or so.

 

None of my tattoos were cheap...


Im sorry you feel that tattoos are fashionable... Mabey the people you know that have them got them to be cool but mine mean something to me... And since as everyone has already pointed out... Tattoos have been around for a long time...

yeh but people go on other forums all the time and rip what people are saying...esp. philosophy and religion....so....y'kno...get over it basically...just ignore it if it bothers you!

To each there own!!! If you don't like chicks with tat's, then go find one without. But let me ask you this, if you met a girl that you really clicked with and really felt a connection with; then you found out she has like 4 tat's, would you get rid of her just because she has tat's?
I think tat's are self expression and they are beautiful.

 

Im sorry, but to me, to say you wouldn't date someone with tattoos is as daft as saying you'd only date someone if they did have a tattoo.... if you dont like them, fine dont get any, but dont judge a section of society simply because you dont like something they choose to do to there own body. I dont like blue, but i dont go onto forums telling people not to wear blue just 'cause I dont like it...

I have 3 tattoos, They all have a meaning refering to a point in my life.
Many people have said "you will regret it" but why would I regret something that has a meaning to me.

Have you ever wondered if the woman with the tattoos on her body would like ur milky soft plain skin up against hers? hmm...

I just dont understand why people like you really worry about things which have no effect in your life in anyway whatsoever.

If you dont like tattoos, dont get one or be involved with people who have them.

All I know is that even when my body will lie motionless and bloodless I will still be able to express my self.

 

I agree with you on this statement. Those kind of people are annoying. I have two tattoos...none on my lower back
