Why does porn make us feel good about ourselves?

Escapist fantasy. I can imagine that I am a different guy.

The type of guy that would do this or that, the type of guy that would be around this type of woman, the type of guy that shrugs off sexual taboos and bangs a guy every once in a while, the type of guy that had a social life while they were single =P

I think this is what it is for a lot of guys. That's why POV porn is so popular these days.

There's a whole 'nother side of it for me though, cause I tend to hoard my porn. And I think that's just the hunting and shopping instinct spinning out of control. It almost seems dominating in some ways. That I am collecting all of this stuff and making it mine.

 

I think for me, it is all about sexual gratification obviously but also appreciation of the human body. I may be a bit alone in this one but I definitely can look at "pornography" without masturbation.

personally, i can only watch certain types of pornography. i saw.....something.... which put me off most kinds for good. *makes sign of the cross*

mostly though, i imagine it is escapist fantasy.

Do you mean that without porn you would feel less good about yourself?

I'm curious because I understand enjoying porn, but I've never heard that it would make someone feel better about themselves.

 

masturbation is good, but i don't give a fuck about porn otherwise.
i only watch it when i'm seriously going to town on myself.

 

Because it gives us pleasure. And if there's some material that we don't find attractive, such as depiction of women being treated poorly by men for example, then we...or at least a part of us feel good about ourselves because we know we are better than the men in those porn films/videos.
