This is aimed to the Judeo/Christian view of G-d. If G-d knows every little thing we do, every moment of the day, ALL the time. It even knows our future, and what we will do in time. Then tell me, why do we exist? It must have an EXTREME lust for worship if It placed us here on Earth, so that we can live ignorant and close-minded by following It's corrupted laws. Then when we finally enter into It's Kingdom, Heaven, praise It for all of eternity. Tell me, does it sound like fun to praise him repeatedly for ever and ever?? Sure as heck doesn't to me. And anyways, why did It even place us on here if It is sooooo perfect, couldn't he have done without us?
We are all "god". This whole thing started as a fun game to play and we forgot that we were playing a game and are now starting to remember what the fuck is going on That's why you see so much sick shit going on and control, etc... The game got out of hand and we forgot that we're the ones making it happen
I've come to the realization that we are call G-d already. I was just questioning those who view it differently.
I'm sure you knew, I would have an opinion! He loves people! Just as people have children, He wants us to grow, learn, love, have fun. I mean, it's not like it is such a big thing to love Him is it? He made the world for people, would be very empty without us. He gave us a choice, He directs us where to go and what to do, but ultimately we have the ability to push Him away and do what we want, which is happening so much.
The world would be very lonely without people, but It didn't have to create a world in the first place. Is he in need of worship SO much that he would put so much humans through an endless eternity in hell just so It can get It's worship. Ahhh, what a loving G-d.
I agree, it does seem pretty pointless when you put it like that. I think, though, that living through God is less about the constant worship and more about the lessons we learn along the way. I believe in reincarnation, though, so I don't know how fundamentalist Christians could explain this to you. No one can explain everything or even give a reason behind all of their beliefs, but some of these "christians" cannot even explain how simple science or logic fits in with their god's plans. Keep searching.
No quite! The idea is you worship Him, then don't go to Hell. He didn't have to create a world to begin with? Everything you have is because of Him, are you not grateful? If that is the way you feel, no wonder you can't grasp the whole concept of this!
I like Kurt Vonnegut (bbuh) came up with the best answer, i'll paraphrase. It's boring being omniscient, so god created an animal so crazy and unpredictable that he (god) wouldn't have a clue what he (man) was going to do.
So in other words It's playing with us? And also, it's NOT unpredictable since It already knows what we're going to do, and it knows our future aswell.
That just proves my point, if you DON'T worship It you go to Hell. Man, that thing sure is an Attention Whore.
Hey Moon_Beam, allow me to ask you a question. You don't seem to worship it simply because It's "loving". I have reason to believe that if Hell didn't exist that probably ALL of the Christians would no longer worship It. Thus drawing the conclusion that you Worship your G-d out of fear. Once you break past from the illusion of Hell, you REALLY open your eyes.
It'd be more accurate to say that it's playing with itself (because humanity is an extension of it's creator, much like a painting is an exension of an artist). Also, have you considered the possibility that god lies. He lies a lot in the bible. He could be lying about being omnsicient. Most of the christians in my family don't believe in hell, and they still worship their g-d. They believe that after death, you become one with everything, and in the cosmic mind, are finally able to understand the consequences of your actions. If you are a nice, mindful person, than you won't be too bothered to understand what the total meaning of your actions were. If you were a total shit head, on the other hand, your newly formed conscience would bother you for just about eternity. Everyone goes to the same place, how they react is the variable. there is no chorus of angels, and no demons with red hot pokers shoving things up your ass for eternity.
To be honest I did not know that it was not believing in God that sent you to hell. I thought that it was being a bad person, lying, cheating etc. I was seeking something bigger, I had a hunch that there was something, that is when I turned to the church. It was only after I started going to church, reading the bible and praying that I found out that it is through ignoring God that hell because a possibility. So to answer your question, yes I did begin to worship God because He was loving, I needed someone who loved me. Even now I don't think about hell much, perhaps it's something to horrible to think about, perhaps I am just ignoring it. I know that I am not all good, but I honestly do not think about hell as much as you may think. I do however think alot about disappointing God and doing stupid things to upset/ annoy Him. Hell is also not talked about that often in churches, it is usually skipped over because the focus is worshiping someone who created us and loved us enough to give us all we have. In all the church services I have been to, only one was focused on hell. I love Jesus for what He did for us, maybe that means I love Him for saving us, but it is so much more than that. You shouldn't assume what someone believes. Not everything can be generalised.
G-d says not to masturbate. So G-d can be lying about Heaven even? So you were in need of someone to love you? One of the many reasons why people turn to an imaginary character. Another one that is popular is you need a friend. And since you, yourself are really Gd, you tell everything to yourself. And you feel like you have a good friend, thus filling that whole.
There is only one God. I have many friends, I wasn't looking for another friend. I was looking for something to make sense of the world. Try it, you might like it.
Or perhaps people just aren't realising that pushing God away is only going to do harm to themselves!
