why do so called "punks" hate hippies?

how to answer.....theres going to be lots of groups that hate other groups, sadly its human nature. but you are 14, when you get a couple years older youll see that not everyone on earth is like this.

 

hmmm....you just reminded me that I saw Ozzy Osbourne on mtv wearing a shirt that said "hippie killer"....something like that. I dont have an answcer to your question. Why does anyone hate anyone else? It's all so stupid.

 

People are insecure, they dont like people that they think might look better than them, be friendlier etc etc, and most of all, they dont understand them.

 

first off.. nofx is a really good band. if you listen to their music a lot of it should NOT be taken seriously.


secondly, they are based in san francisco. a lot of the "hippies" here are commercialized. it can be annoying. and some of the hard-core environmentalist and whatnot are really.. annoying to a lot of people. and the "never trust a hippie".. stereotyping there.


(i love hippies.. i also like that song.. it makes me laugh)

 

I have a ladder theory people who hate are on the ladder, not everyone hates, hate to me is like if you killed them or they died you wouldn't feel anything and then theres dislike you can't stand them but you agree to disagree and don't wish them any harm I dislike a number of people but I don't hate anyone, so like the ladder theory those who on it are competing for the top and they can't move or breathe and so don't take in anyone elses idea those not on it are just like don't dig that do there own thing but don't get too hung up on things and are able to breathe and move and take in and swap ideas with ideas, I like the idea that I'm not on the ladder lol probably sounds stupid

terrorists hate the gov.
the gov. hates hippies
hippies hate being out of money....
money is run by the man!!!!?

theres this punked-out-skater-kid whose been really into me for a while. (hes a cool kid, but he can be a deuche, so its not gonna happen, but he calls me his 'hot hippie chick' ((which im not so sure i like. no, i know i dont))) but i was joking around with him once that we can make peace between the groups. And most self proclaimed punks i know (NOT ALL, IM NOT LOOKING FOR AN ARGUMENT) but most i know hate everyone, not just 'hippies'

NOFX was joking people, half of what they do is satire, don't take it so seriously.

I'm not a punk, but the reason is pretty obvious, the punk rock movement *like the hippie movement in the 60's* was about rebelling aginst social norms, and by the time the punk movement rolled around the hippie movement was normal, half these kids parents were hippies and its just youthful rebelion.

Trust me, you'll be a lot happier if you forget about labels completly and just go with the flow... that sounds kinda hippieish but unfortunatly its true. The punk movements dead, and the hippie movements long dead... I'm posting on this hippie message board and I'm a kickboxer, I'm going to school to become a medic, and I listen to trance and hip-hop (I'm white) I'm a walking contradiction, and I get by ok. Just have fun.

hate? yeah i just LOVE hate! eek! so fuckin what if people want to call me a hippy? i would definatley consider myself one.

its a LOT more than rebelling against the normm, its a way of handling life, seeing the world, and most importantly a state of mind. unfortunatley, that isnt normal in our world.

You know, that sounds pretty correct, but there is one thing I disagree with. I don't hate the government. I just strongly disagree with the extreems they are taking their 'laws' to. I really believe I do no hate anyone.
