how so? they could rent or sell for more money than they get in from a viewing room, and would require less equipment and store space resulting in more savings. There has to be aspecific reason why porn shops have viewing rooms and regular video stores dont

there's probably a specific niche audience that prefers the viewing room. i'm pretty sure there's a specific reason porn shops have a lot of things regular video stores don't

Glory holes and peepholes are illegal, it would cost operators too much to replace constantly drilled holes or pay off constant city fines for having such holes, to make viewing rooms financially viable for that prupose. There has to be another reason for them. It's also illegal to whack it in viewing rooms, and so much as trace elements of saliva in a viewing room is enough to get an adult store fined. (in some states its illegal to even have doors or curtains on viewing rooms)

Parlour rubs (the naughty kind) are also illegal, but it makes financial sense for them to operate because it offers a service you can't get at home, under the guise of a legally operated business and can also attract girls as employees it otherwise wouldnt due to the relative safety of operating their business underone roof (as opposed to the payers house)
Porn shop viewing rooms from what i can tell, dont offer those advantages. you can bring porn home/download it at home with even more ease and less worry of being indentified as a perv than by going to a viewing room. the only thing i can think of is possibly in a porn shop viewing room, they show films they otherwise wouldnt be allowed to rent out/have on record as showing. I.E. "donkey cock loving brazillians".

 

people don't go there just to watch the "films" they go to have illegal sex in a public place, where they can be walked in on and such. yeah, those things get busted, but the business the shop does is pretty heavy.
