The Germans also have a Ron Paul and the British as well Maybe people belive that a guy can change the system However the only way to really vote in a system like ours would be to make a revolution
I used to live in his district, before I left the US. Here's why I like him: He's honest, and he almost always votes the way he says he's going to. He's basically anti-war, and really gave some incredibly intelligent and bold objections (exposing the real situation for what it was) to the invasion of Iraq-see his website. He's one of the few people in Congress that's really 'pro-life'-in other words, he's against abortion, the death penalty, war, and just killing in general. He's an obstetrician, and when someone came to him and needed medical care, and didn't have money or insurance, he simply treated them for free. How many doctors today would do that? Not many. He's against the government regulating every aspect of our lives, and thinks that whether we use drugs or want to put something into our own bodies is basically our business. He's against the US intervening in the affairs of other countries, and thinks that if there's a leader of another country that we don't agree with or that is doing things that we oppose, that it's the business of the citizens of that country, not ours. All these policies go directly against the 'powers that be' and the leadership of the Republican and Democratic parties, and he couldn't care less. How many politicians have that kinda guts? Almost none.
Take a look at his exposure of the real situation that existed before the invasion of Iraq-the man's a genius, and pretty brave, too, to buck the system the way he does http://paul.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=314&Itemid=60
It doesn't look like Ron has sold his soul to the devilish political ways that we've seen in the last 40 years. If he ever became president i doubt his beliefs would become reality. The elite would let him in because the general population would follow his course, the cattle must be tricked to head some direction. Once in office i'm sure he would be persuaded to do other things he didn't mention before. If people haven't realized yet, in the political world, saying, and doing, are black and white areas. Since kennedy no president has kept his word on anything, a few subjects yes, but the overall agenda, absolutely not.
This is PBS interview by Judy Woodruff with Ron Paul https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=bXKrdE2x5og
The british don't have anything like a Ron paul. Don't forget that in this country the right wing is still to the left of your Democratic party!
He is also one of the most consistent member of congress. He always does what he says he is going to do. Probably the most consistent members of congress.
I'm in favor of him, because he's a libertarian and so am I. He wants to legalize drugs, is against war, and is an isolationist. I do agree that he probably would not do all of the things he said he would if he was elected into office, but the president doesn't really hold the power to do any of the things they say, congress does. I thought Obama was going to legalize weed and he didn't. Ron Paul did write the bill to deciminalize pot though.
^^^^This. I'm a libertarian and I agree with his libertarian views. I actually used to despise Ron Paul back when I was a hypocritical neocon Republican but my views have evolved since then. I don't idolize him or anything but he's the only politician in D.C. that I trust enough to listen to.
Cause the guy makes sense and he cuts through the BS when he speaks. That's why FOX cut him out of the debate footage... and he kind of looks like Magneto.
eh, the opposing parties would keep anything from getting done. Like they're doing now. Basically, holding the country hostage.
I agree with all the choices, except for "They are crazy". I think he actually kind of looks like Timothy Leary. haha
