Around me, there is nobody else that watch old movies but me. I feel like I am an exception. The oldest that most of the people would go is 1990s, which is far from being old, considering how long cinema has been around. I wonder what is wrong with old movies? Why do people hate old movies too much? I recommended one of my friends the good the bad the ugly (1966) but he wouldn't even give it a try because it is from 1966.
I watch old movies constantly. Some of my favorites: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, 1963 African Queen, 1951 It's a Gift, 1934 Zulu, 1964
WC Fields---. I love Wc and old movies. Of course I was alive and going to old movies in the 40s. Tobacco Road is one of my old time faves, among many, many others.
I love old films, but I am probably considered old at age 67. I love science fiction. 2001 A Space Odyssey is great from the late 1960s. I also like 'spaghetti westerns' and have toured some areas in Spain and Italy where they were filmed. Some we also filmed in Mexico, great locations. Mysteries are fascinating and sometimes funny. Have you seen Clue? Last evening we watched Alfred Hitchcock's film Psycho... what fun!
Tobacco Road? Strange movie. Kinda depressing. I liked the old car with a tin can for a radiator. And Gene Tierney was pretty good.
taste varies, as is natural for it to do so, as do how close a thing comes to an individual's interest. not sure i understand the question, nor what hate has to do with individual personal interests. personally i care less about drama then the solving of engineering problems and the diversity of design and landscapes. this is why personal concept expressions, home made animations, odd expressions of individual imagination, attract me more then polished professional productions with their cultural mundaneness. this is seriously one of those to each their own. no one size fits all or even close.
Not me. Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, The Wild Bunch, Hud, The Sting, Midnight Cowboy.
I enjoy old films . This is a 1970 film by Bill Naughton about a family in my home town . I watched it last night .
I like old movies but I wish they were all in color, I'm not too fond of black & white. And I think that's one of the reasons some people don't like old movies. Here's one I haven't seen or even heard about in some time:
