why do guys scratch their balls in public

hey i am a guy and i know they get itchy or move around and stuff but i would never scratch them in public like in a croud of people or even just hanging out with one other person. i was hangin with one of my friends the other day and he down right itched his balls infront of me at least 10 times. just walking down the street i see guys doing it all the time. i remember my mom would smack me for doing it.

so here is my question do u find it offensive, why, or why not

 

I scratch my balls in public all the time, I try to be discreet about it but I'm not going to suffer just because I'm worried someone has the mentality of a 3rd grader. "He touched his private part!!!!"
