Funny. You can see that adding a second proposition to atheist renders a person "no longer being only atheist", but adding a second proposition to "Christian"--like "Evangelical"-- doesn't make a person "no longer being only Christian." Why is that again? Your reasoning seems painfully tortured. What is the "manual", the "central dogma", the governing body, etc., that bind all Christians together as a war mongering entity? And you forget that my response was to a claim that "atheists very seldom mount armed attacks on individuals or countries." Seems to me that Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, & Kim Jong Un and many of their key aides were atheists and did indeed mount attacks on individuals and countries--frequently. So how am I wrong? Seems to me like a familiar playground scene where the bully launches an assault by saying atheists are less prone to violence than Christians, and when the intended victim calls him on it, the bully cries foul. "It's not fair to bring up real violence committed by atheists, cuz after all not all atheists are like that, and only atheists are allowed to make critical generalizations. Atheists who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. As for what those "bad Christians" are reading, I'd say they're misreading both Testaments, which, by and large, extol justice, peace and love.

    I agree completely with China.

Atheism operates exactly like a religion. And yes, agnosticism exists independently of atheism and theism.

    How do I know this?

Ask an atheists what happens when you die. They'll say "you're just dead."

Ask an agnostic what happens when you die. They'll say "I don't know. Maybe you go to the immortal realm of Barbelo (where Jesus is from according to the Book of Judas), or the land of the Eggun-gun (voodoo/santeria). It could be anything."

Atheists also tend to be very vocal and in-your-face. They can't just live and let live. Everyone has to be like them. Muslims tend to take their religion very seriously and can get offended easily, but at least they don't go around trying to make everyone else Muslim! Then after everyone is atheist (for whatever reason), we all have to "build community" and get together to reaffirm our belief: that there is no God.

Some of them do, if this counts for 'trying to make everyone else Muslim'

It's perfectly in their right to peacfully promote their ideas. It's called freedom of speech

I think that's different from Jehovah's Witnesses and atheists. Holding up a sign and setting an example is exactly what a person should do in a civil society, not be a predator.

The thing is is that Christians aren't necessarily telling you to "stay quiet" anymore, and killing you if you don't. At least admit that you do care about Religion very much, and are involved with its existence. Quit acting like you don't care when you go out of your way to encourage people to leave their religion behind and quit going to church.

Yes, freedom of speech is a given, and where both this sign and the Atheist billboard fails is that it's encouraging people to do something that's against what they want. The Atheism one is worse though, as this one is merely a matter of opinion. The Atheist one is telling Christians to potentially turn Atheist and not go to Church. There's no reason to make a billboard to encourage an Atheist to not go to Church.

I'm merely telling you what Atheism is. I'm not telling you to not be an Atheist anymore.

This in the Internet. That's a totally different sphere of dialogue than everyday life. People should mind their own business offline, especially when it comes to perfect strangers.

I wouldn't care at all if someone told me not to be an atheist. Oh no, it's much more ubiquitous than that. Ever hear of an Atheist presidential candidate in this country? That aught to tell you a bundle. I guess I'm just lucky they don't 'go old testament on my ass' huh?

Boo-hoo someones telling you to stop acting like you know something you don't know.
Thats the core of it , you know?

All you religious people are pretending to know something exclusively, that you do not know, and it's intellectually disingenuous .
Totally bogus, dude... in other words.

Maybe you are delusional, maybe you're just culturally hypnotized, I don't know but y'all need help, seriously.

First off, I'm not associated with any specific religion.

Secondly, there's a history to Christianity. It stems from somewhere. So you need to realize that the modern interpretation isn't fully the same as the beginning roots of Christianity.

Third, Atheists are also pretending to know that God doesn't exist.

The first thing that Christians (and other Abrahamic religions) could do, if nothing else as a show of good will, would be to denounce the old testament, wipe it from the books, stop abusing children with these nightmarish horror storys about a mega-maniacal god who would drown the entire population of earth, slaughter peoples cattle and first-born children because he didn't like their king, or killing 50,000 men because they peeked at the ark of the covenant, or like in 2 Kings 2:23-24, some kids tease the prophet Elisha, and God sends bears to dismember them.
And don't even get me started on the book of Revelations... for fucksake it's insanity, and it's tantamount to child abuse to be brainwashing kids with this blood-cult porn.
If you're really lucky and your kid has some brains of their own, they will simply realize it's bat-shit crazy and lose all respect for you as any kind of authority. At least they'll avoid suffering your delusions.

You're pretending to KNOW that there isn't such thing as something that could be called God.
