Why are my parents keeping my pot?

Just a little background. I've been busted multiple times by my parents. My mom was raised in a Catholic family so I understand why she gets so mad at me for smoking. My dad on the other hand always reminds me that I am under 18 and living in his house so I should abide by his rules. Most likely means "I am responsible for you until you are 18 so I will not condone anything illegal" but I understand and know you aren't doing coke. He has admitted to any drugs he has taken. He said he tried pot once and it didn't do much for him. I am also pretty sure he did ecstasy for a while but only because he knew exactly what he was getting.

I was caught last year when I went down to Florida with my family and I brought a couple grams. My dad later admitted smoking some of it with 2 friends. He said it did nothing but make him lightheaded. Most likely because it was just mids and they probably smoked half a gram.

About 2 months ago I had a friend staying with me for an a couple weeks. I bought 6 or 7 grams of some decent dank because we would have little to do the first few days. For a couple nights we stayed up and would go out and smoke a joint or two. We saved the roaches and put them in a bag inside my freinds backpack. I didn't think there would be any problem with the smell through multiple layers but those stinky roaches were a dead giveaway. My parents found them while we were gone and I got the usual pissed off reaction when I got back. After yelling at me for a few minutes my parents just let it go.

I found out later that my parents had the bag with my papers, roaches, and weed in their bathroom. It smelled so bad that when it was gone the next day I figured they had flushed it and thrown out my papers. Tonight I felt like sitting back after a bowl and listening to some music so I looked through their bathroom real quick to see if I could smell it. I couldn't smell a thing so I just checked the highest shelves. Inside a small plastic container (some sort of make up shit) was everything they had taken from me. I can't really tell if any is missing so I'm not sure if it has just sat there.

But the biggest question for me is, why the hell are my parents keeping my weed?

That's definitely not what my parents are doing. My parents aren't dumb enough to get the law invovled because it would just be a waste of time and probably create extra stress.

I really couldn't get myself to believe at first that they were keeping my weed for any particular reason but it seems this is fairly common. My friend also just found a pipe and a little weed at his house but it isn't his. Seeing as the only two other people living with him are his mom and stepdad we've come to the conclusion that his stepdad didn't give up smoking weed after his tour in Vietnam was over.

I'm really thinking about confronting my dad. I'm 99% sure my mom would not smoke with him so it's probably him and his friends smoking it. I think I'll just hold out a few months and wait until my 18th birthday. If he doesn't say anything to me then, I'll ask him about it.

 

yeah pretty much every single one of my friends parents smoke or have smoked and have taken friends shit and smoked it. iv smoked with a few of my friends parents, but my parents are some fuckin white collar conservative christian bitches who i really cant stand... owell

 

maybe your dad is considering giving it back to you when you turn 18

 

they could be smoking it, they could be planning to give it back at some point, or maybe they just feel weird throwing out something that doesn't technically belong to them

 

dad might just realize it would be stupid to throw something away that is worth money, even if it is illegal, i mean he sounds fairly cool,you both know you smoke, i mean if you ask any pot smoker to throw out their weed they will be just like "wtf?" there is no good reason to do it unless you are facing getting caught,and nobody is in trouble with the law in that situation.

 

if there still keeping it then do this.

1) carefully unravel the roaches
2) scap out the weed and load it in a bowl
3) smoke
4) Get some knd of eragano or other green herb and roll it back in

You get your weed back and your parents will never know, unless they themselves try smoking it.

 

Way ahead of you. I had a large 3 gram nugget in there and 4 roaches. I've pinched some of the nugget and one roach. I should keep taking it to see if I can finish it before they say anything.

Man, don't push your luck with your parents. They're doing what they think they should to protect you. It's a parent thing.

Maybe you should wait it out. From what it sounds like, they're being pretty cool about it already by not flushing (or smoking) your shit.

back in the day I used to search my parents house for hours trying to find where they hide my shit. My dad told me hed throw it in a river but i thought he was bs-ing me

 

haha a similar thing happened to me recently.

i had a jar with some mushrooms in it inside a bag of mine under my bed. my aunt (i live with my aunt and uncle) found the mushrooms and left them there after confronting me about them. i was kind of confused about what i should do, but the next day they were gone. this was a little over a month ago.

but about 2 weeks ago i was in her room looking for my passport (i'm 18 and wanted to buy cigarettes, and don't have another ID) and i opened up a drawer and right there, hidden under her socks, was the jar still full of mushrooms.

hmmmmmmmm...

 

Let me ask you guys what would you rather have your parents do with your weed after they take it. Either throw it away or smoke it. Personally, I'd rather have them smoke it because that means they will be cool when ur over 18, and they aint wasting it by throwing it away.
