I just found out today that I'm an eighth cherokee.... I seriously had no idea. My grandma just told me... I was always like "are you part native... you look like it" and she never said anything about it... she'd be like "no... I'm scotch-irish and german"... then today she was like "OMG... I just remembered my mom was cherokee and I found some of her things and all of this"
Congrats... 1/8 is exactly enough to get you a scholarship. Here ya go you savage. http://www.sacnas.org/fellow.html
I found out a few weeks ago that I'm a little less than 1/10th native american. my aunt had a DNA test done for some reason and found that out. pretty cool.
Yeah. I wanna try that someday, just to see if there's anything nobody knows about. I've had a blood test done (and others have) and found that an enlarged heart is dominent and it's one of the most prominent causes of death in my family... and a lot of people in my family have no idea they have enlarged hearts. My uncle was on methadone and had an enlarged heart at the same time which led to heart failure... nobody was really sure if he was abusing anything. But he died at 40... most people who have it die around their fourties. My dad hasn't... nor has my grandmother.
contrary to popular beleif, this is bullshit. Race cannot be determined by a DNA test. In fact, race is primarily a social construct, not a genetic reality.
