how do you simplify 3(y3)4 the small numbers are supposed to be exponents (2x2)3 also, what is 12 % of the following numbers, 234, 92, 387, 542
Wouldn't it just be 3y7? Or is it 3y12? Same with the 2x one. I think you either multiply the exponents, or add them. I don't know. It's been so long since I've done algebra.
3(y3)4 = 3y12 (2x2)3 = (4x)3 = 32x 12% of 234 = 28.08 12% of 92 = 11.04 12% of 387 = 46.44 12% of 542 = 65.04
If I think way back to my freshman college algebra class, I think you add the exponents. I think. I passed that class with a B, but hell if I retained any of the stuff that was taught. lol I'd go with adding the exponents, but please don't take my word for it!
thanx rat yeah, i have been taking the class since 7th grade, and i'm a sophomore now! math really isn't my thing... i'm hoping someone else on here will knowgotta have this thing done by monday
oh... Fuck im sorry, if you asked me 1 week ago i wouldve known... since i dont really have classes anymore, ive forgotten about everything i learned in Math this year(im very good at that.. i hate math, its kinda sad cause my dad loves it, hes like some sort of programmer and that shit soo ya.. hes like ya.. math is great, you should get over your math phobia..)... 12 percent of: 234 is 28.08 92 is 11.04 387 is 46.44 542 is 65.04
i figured out the simplifying one... it is called a propety, simplify wasnt in the index of my book. what is the value of x if x =2(square root sign) 7 3.2, 3/7, 5/3, or 9.9
oops..Pressed rat already posted that... it think itll say somewhere in your math book.. try reading over the part your in... (man.. and yeah id hate it if someone told me that... but itll probly say it...) man.. i always forget my Math... like i never really get it i think... but ya... i auctally passed it....which is amazing cause i never paid attention in class, always forgot to do my homework till class and never studied much for quizzes.. i really dont know how i passed... but.. someday you wont have to do math again, and think... youll never need about anything you ever learned in Math ever again... mmn... how loverly..
what is the value of x if x =2(square root sign) 7 3.2, 3/7, 5/3, or 9.9 what no one knows square roots?
a couple years ago, i'd be able to help you with that. but its been to long since i was able to comprehend this stuff. i had to drop my pre-calc class last semester cuz the prof. kept referring to college algebra. and i never took college algebra, so i usually slept through the class.
3y7 and 2x5 (Little numbers being exponents) You've already had the % questions done correctly several times, so i wont bother writing them, but they are right.
Metro is right: 3(y^3)^4 = 3(y^3*y^3*y^3*y^3) = 3(y^12) (2x^2)^3 = 2x^2*2x^2*2x^2 = 8x^6 You can always check your answer by filling in any nr for the x or y (in this case don't try 1 )
giving you answers is nice, but its not gonna get you anywhere when you have an exponent on an exponent, (eg (2Y^3)^2), multiply the exponents, and apply the outter exponent to the coefficient (eg (2^2)x(Y^(3x2))) when doing percentages, think of the percent as /100, so 45% = 45/100, or .45 then just multiply that with the number you are trying to find the percentage of. eg 32% of 3456 = .32 x 3456 for square roots, use your calculator
yeah, I didn't want to give him the answers, because you never learn that way and it is pretty simple algebra, stuff a person should probably know by the time they get out of highschool. So he should learn it. I just didn't want him getting wrong answers.
