Who kicks more ass? Is it... Bob Dylan? or Neil Young? Oooh, choices, choices. Not to sway your vote or anything... but Bob Dylan has a cooler name, is much more attractive, certainly prettier than Neil Young. Bob is a brilliant poet, and the voice of a generation. His albums are simply beautiful. He can also be called by fun nicknames such as "Bobby" or my favortie, "Bobert". But don't let all that influence you.
One vote for Neil Young ! Lover, there will be another one Who'll hover over you beneath the sun Tomorrow see the things that never come Today When you see me Fly away without you Shadow on the things you know Feathers fall around you And show you the way to go It's over, it's over. Nestled in your wings my little one This special morning brings another sun Tomorrow see the things that never come Today When you see me Fly away without you Shadow on the things you know Feathers fall around you And show you the way to go It's over, it's over. ----------------------- Old man lying by the side of the road With the lorries rolling by, Blue moon sinking from the weight of the load And the building scrape the sky, Cold wind ripping down the alley at dawn And the morning paper flies, Dead man lying by the side of the road With the daylight in his eyes. Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning, Find someone who's turning And you will come around. Blind man running through the light of the night With an answer in his hand, Come on down to the river of sight And you can really understand, Red lights flashing through the window in the rain, Can you hear the sirens moan? White cane lying in a gutter in the lane,If you're walking home alone. Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning, Just find someone who's turning And you will come around. Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning, Just find someone who's turning And you will come around. ------------------------------ I want to live, I want to give I’ve been a miner for a heart of gold. It’s these expressions I never give That keep me searching for a heart of gold And I’m getting old. Keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I’m getting old. I’ve been to hollywood I’ve been to redwood I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold I’ve been in my mind, it’s such a fine line That keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I’m getting old. Keeps me searching for a heart of gold And I’m getting old. Keep me searching for a heart of gold You keep me searching for a heart of gold And I’m getting old. I’ve been a miner for a heart of gold. --------------------------------------- There’s colors on the street Red, white and blue People shufflin’ their feet People sleepin’ in their shoes But there’s a warnin’ sign on the road ahead There’s a lot of people sayin’ we’d be better off dead Don’t feel like satan, but I am to them So I try to forget it, any way I can. I see a woman in the night With a baby in her hand Under an old street light Near a garbage can Now she puts the kid away, and she’s gone to get a hit She hates her life, and what she’s done to it There’s one more kid that will never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool. Keep on rockin’ in the free world, Keep on rockin’ in the free world Keep on rockin’ in the free world, Keep on rockin’ in the free world. We got a thousand points of light For the homeless man We got a kinder, gentler, Machine gun hand We got department stores and toilet paper Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive. Keep on rockin’ in the free world, Keep on rockin’ in the free world Keep on rockin’ in the free world, Keep on rockin’ in the free world. --------------------------------- I wanna live with a cinnamon girl I could be happy the rest of my life With a cinnamon girl. A dreamer of pictures I run in the night You see us together, chasing the moonlight, My cinnamon girl. Ten silver saxes, a bass with a bow The drummer relaxes and waits between shows For his cinnamon girl. A dreamer of pictures I run in the night You see us together, chasing the moonlight, My cinnamon girl. Pa sent me money now I'm gonna make it somehow I need another chance You see your baby loves to dance Yeah...yeah...yeah. -------------------------- How can I bring you To the Sea of Madness I love you so much It's gonna bring me sadness I've never seen you Through these eyes before Now I don't believe it I think I'll take it Or leave it. All I need Is your sweet sweet loving Fill my life with happiness All I want is your heart Every time I think of you Mine falls apart. I went to heaven And I stood at the crossroads I'll love you tomorrow As sure as the wind blows Silver rain On the mountain clover Washes away Until the music is over.
I put the odds in your favor George... I split up the votes for me. People who love Neil will all choose one, but those who love Dylan will be split between just him, or him and me... Or there's always voting for just me. People could do that too...
Love Neil...but my roots are with Mr. Dylan. Had some good times listening to Neil Young driving to school with my brother when we went together...he will always remind me of our little bonding. But then, he did give me Highway 61 Revisited for my birthday, so that can't put Neil over the edge. Bob Dylan has always been there.... I can't abandon him now. ...even for Katie
Bob kicks Neils ass all over the place. I saw Neil in 83 and he was great. Saw him again around 2000 and he sucked. I still like his music, but wouldn't go see him again. Elvis = 1950's Bob = 1960's Neil = 1970's Jacko = 1980's Madonna = 1990's there, that is the opus delecti profundi constabulatorius I amalgamized, but I digress...
no!! get madonna and jacko out of there! well hold on....what the hell is that for? you used some big words that only rocket scientists use....is that who you think ruled those decades? if so, nirvana should be the 90s, and sadly jacko stays there :H
did nirvana have more hits and sell more concert tickets, and more cd's than the vogue one in the 90's. my little decade list was inspired by Rolling Stone's Artist of the Decade thing years ago that had Bob and Neil in it. the rest is just my guess.
lol, does it really matter? Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears are selling out concerts nowadays... it was Nirvana who brought back *good* rock music even if just for a little while.
I love Nirvana, but I would pick Pearl Jam over them...just barely. I kinda put Madonna in there cuz the list needed a woman.
I don't think Pearl Jam ever had a hit that killed that Michael Jackson/diva crap like "teen spirit" did.....I could be wrong tho
I read that Neil spent a lot of time with his children, who have some type of disability I believe. Stalin doted on his granddaughter.
