Who I am is a duckling who grew into a swan Not beautiful but different, so that I did not belong, Who I am is a Daughter who was never understood The Daughter of two parents who did the best they could, Who I am is a sibling who some love & some hate I'm their sibling yet an outcast it's the irony of fate, Who I am is a woman whose always felt alone Who longs, who wants, who searches, yet never finds a home, Who I am is a woman who loves to fight for a cause Whose spent some time in prison for breaking the state law, Who I am is writer with a poets soul to bare Who I am is an unloved woman whose always running scared, Who I am is a cynic who has seen such ugly things That I am no longer shocked at the grief existing brings, Who I am is a creature a child of God Who now finds things in spirit, yet uncertain blurred and odd, Who I am is a woman who feels things sharp and deep Who I am is a woman whose consciences never sleeps, Who I am is a woman weary of her search for peace Who I am is a woman who loves, but there is no love within my reach!!
