i'm just asking this because a veg diet is considered the world peace diet because it takes care of so many thing at once - pollution, resourses, water, world hunger, animals, and health. and if anyone wants to know more about this diet just ask me or look it up
alot of people think im vegan cause im so damn skinny im not a vegan or a vegitarian, but i dont read meat. well, i dont really meat that much anyways...but when i do its usually just chicken or fish. no read meat for me
I know about veganism, know people that are vegan. I myself am too lazy though, I eat meat less then I eat meat replacers but I'm not even a vegitarian (I like meat too much to give it up). I should be, in my own opinion. Although my main reason is animal disease, scares the shit out of me.
oh and i'm a half-vegetarian technically. i dont eat most meats. never ever eat pork. i'm trying to cut down to just seafood, for health reasons. but i eat chicken. and beef on rare occassions.
i'm vegetarian... i've never liked meat actually. i could never be vegan because i think i couldn't live without yogurt.
I'm a vegetarian! Have been for around 3 1/2 years, and I have no urge to go back to meat-eating. ~Nova
I don't think anyone is half vegetarian or sort of vegetarian, you are or you are not. not to be mean... it's just that there are many things involved when a person is vegetarian, so eating any kind of animal excludes you from being one. I am vegan, actually raw vegan since last week... It's not easy, I still crave my rice and beans but i'm making an efort. I don't crave as much anymore.
I've been a vegetarien for like 4 or 5 months now and I personally don't crave meat anymore.I originally quit eating meat for my ideals as I think animals deserve the right to live without being slaughtered for food and profit but now i'm kinda a vegetarien for alot of different reasons aswell.
actually, i got the term from a reference book i read when i was in junior high. i am for animal rights and i dont believe in eating meat. i just eat a little. and as little as possible. since I am against it but I havent given up all meat, I'm considered a semi-vegetarian.
seafood still has saturated animal fats+cholesterol packed in it. fish is the only meat with potential to nourish the body, but it rarely does since its often saturated with chemicals built up from the waters it swam in, and the cholesterol rarely makes the fatty acids worth it. hemp seeds are a more balanced source of fatty acids, and their also complete protein, how bout that??? to the person who said they liked meat, idk. i never TRULY liked meat, shit i never even really liked milk. i rememebr as a kid my parents gave it to me and i asked this came from a cow udder? totally grossed me out and i wanted nothin to do with it, until my parents finally lied and said this is milk that doesnt come from a cow, cuz i guess they thought it was good from me. now that im vegan, and INFORMED, im completley grossed out more often than not when i look at milk and imagine the cow tit it came from and what was done to the poor animal. thats just truthfully the way i see it now, as something gross. also, i never liked meat really. hotdogs always grossed me out but id eat em just cuz i thought thats all there was or i had to or somethin. the ends and borders on lunchmeat and the veins would always gross me out, and id always end up spittin some out. same with hamburgers where you find that one piece that just doesnt taste right. steak fat, YUCK. i remember always being very bothered by seeing the occasional vein in my chicken, and always hating biting or tearing around it and keeping a watchful eye for it. same thing with bacon, watching the veins flow and explode cooking it. thats just the way i always really saw meat, but never thought about it as being meat or where it came from or anything...but now that i KNOW, im grossed out a whole lot more just by the sight of a packaged meat. i dont think i could bite into a hamburger knowingly anymore even if i wanted to. tortured flesh does NOT taste good or look appealing, and it doesnt make you healthy or offer a good a source of protein either. the only time i do think its tasty is when i see some stupid commercial thats conditioned me into it, but that happens with every commercial. but it doesnt even phase me, im not gonna eat a burger cuz some commercial made by some evil fuck inspired me to, fuck that. that shit just isnt natural.. who here sees roadkill and says MM fire up the grill? not just is it gross and unatural imo, but its WRONG the way they treat those animals in factory farms. i think its 93% of our meat that comes from factory 'farms', and these places are taunting this earth in many many ways like the original poster mentioned. world hunger, the environment, the health, etc...these people do NOT care about you or really anything and its nothing but bad energy. pretty much every animal you probably eat COULD be a pet, but its treated nothing even remotely like a pet, or a sentient being, but they totally are and its wrong. to eat it is to say, yes i accept and support the outright cruel and fucked up shit you just did, and i want to be apart of the monster of a corporation youve created.
btw im very vegan(with a couple slips with food that i didint buy and wasnt a straight animal product like a glass of milk, some cookies for example) and have been since spring this year. vegetarian for a year and a couple months now : ) had no problem doin either, did em both in one day and just started eating foods. cravings didnt even phase me, and had no problem finding other good tasting and more often than not, healthier food.
ok, people when i say I eat meat rarely I mean I eat like a bite of meat once a week AT MOST. I really dont like it. But my dad hates when I beg for tofu, and I need to be healthy, so I need some kind of protein intake. I promise I got the term semi-vegetarian from a book in the library when I was doing research. I never called myself that before. But I dont identify with people who like meat. Its gross to me (and the word flesh, whether about animals or humans, makes me shiver. its the grossest word ever). I really dont feel like defending myself.
yea be nice, shes on the fence and we could totally tip her in the right direction with a little work, haha peanuts and whole grains give you complete protein. i'm sure your dad doesnt mind you eating some peanut butter sandwhiches does he???
