Who else didn't like Aretha Franklin's singing at the Inauguration?

I just, did not like her voice, good on her for doing this at her age and everything though.

I didn't dig it either. ANd that hat was too distracting

 

I didn't see it, but I probably wouldn't have liked it.

 

She was good in her time. She does (or rather DID) have a great voice.

 

yeah exactly, when i hears she was going to sing i was looking forward to it, but i have to say i was really dissapointed.

i wish people would go out of fame with dignity.

 

she blamed it on the cold.

I think shes just old.

and obviously senile to wear a hat like that.

 

Perhaps she was a gift. Bow was big enough.

The song brought tears to my eyes... but then I don't shudder with revulsion when I hear gospel. It was very heartfelt. She put her soul into it.
I thought the hat was cute. She's old. Old women wear big hats. It's just something you do when you become an old lady. My crazy Italian grandma has a gaudy Easter bonnet she wears every year. I can only hope that I will have one that's half as gaudy as that.

 

Did she really sing it or was it lip-synced like Milli Vanilli? Considering what happened with Yo-Yo Ma, anything could happen.

Yeah, she did sing it, pretty bad though.

 

Yes she sang it and was quoted as saying "the cold air affected my voice"
