Yes, Super Bowel. Surely I am not the only abnormal person here who fucking hates the Super Bowl and all the corporate, puke-inducing garbage that goes along with it. When did it become such a big deal, or has it always been? And why? I just can't get excited over that shit.
I don't pay attention the the corporate garbage aspect of it. I just love football. That being said I'm probably not going to watch it. I had some side jobs come available today and I need the cash. If the Broncos were playing it would be a totally different story. I would be all over that shit
The sport is not about what team is the best, the sport is about whats best for the media and tv. Many many teams have been fucked over because that team vs that team wont promote much of anything, no drama. SO we will give a bunch of teams shitty bullshit calls that kills the chances of winning. Media sports are not sports. Plus nothing on tv helps pay my rent so i care even less....
A message from England.I couldn't give less of a shit about the Superbowl. And it IS being shown on British TV.A complete shovel of shit.
c'mon, pressed rat. you're not gonna crack an ice cold bud light with your bros? get pizza and wings and cheer for your favorite team on the big screen? gtfo of 'merica! actually, my wife is gonna make chilly, and we'll watch the game. i've always watched the superbowl even though i'm not very into football or sports at all. it'd be cool if the Bills could make it to another one
I don't know who plays, I don't know when it is played and I don't know what it is about, but I heard the name Super Bowl. And I know it is some baseball game.
i don't give a shit about the super bowl. i dislike watching any sport on TV. however, a friend has convinced me to go to a local bar to watch it tonight, as it'll be full of american students cheering at literally everything, and it might be fun if we just go and get hammered with 'em and try to join in.
Shouldn't this be in the whiners section, not really a random or original thought though I happen to agree with the OP. Actually scratch that I do like my friends/family super bowl gatherings - just another excuse to eat good food/drink good beer with friends on a sunday, don't really care won wins either, Texans choked long ago :'(
This year is the first year I have successfully avoided finding out who is even playing. Only reason I give a damn in the slightest is because it was just fucking insane going grocery shopping yesterday. Fucking douchebags everywhere stocking up on stuff to pig out on all day and seeing other douchebags and having to block up the aisles talking about their Super Bowl parties. Dammit, I was just doing my weekly shopping and those nutsacks were in the way.
I am very excited for this Super Bowl primarily because my team is in it This game should be one of the most physical, hard hitting games of the new millenium. This season proved the football adage "Offense wins games but defense wins championships" adage true. There are several storylines that provide drama for the game and it should be a quality football game. As far as the spectacle and commercialism of it, as in the commercials, halftime show, etc. I don't care so much.
Gonna be a sweet game. Hopefully I can hang a 2013 pennant up next to my 1985 niners one when its all said and done
I thought I cared for a year or two once upon a time. I love the footy. Soccer that is. And follow it throughout the season. I support Leeds United so I'm just as keen on the Championship division as I am the Premier League where the likes of Man Utd play. I watch FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League games too! I enjoy the big game excitement, even if Leeds aren't playing (which usually they're not!) So for a time I'd tune into the Super Bowl just to pick a side, gather some friends, get some alcohol in and have a good night. But when it comes down to it, American Football is just rather dull. I mean, cricket dull. So tonight I'll probably tune into Match of the Day 2 and see how Man City and Liverpool ended and turn off before the 3 hour coverage of a half hour of sport the Super Bowl offers.
I also like european football but i cant understand how europeans think american football is "dull" when soccer players just stand around most of the time wen the ball isnt near them and flop like fish out of water every chance they get.
Maybe truth advocate Mark Dice will do one of his 'drive-by shoutings' and try to insult all the fans at tailgate parties like he did to shoppers last Christmas time on Black Friday.
I don't like any sports. When I was in high school my cousin broke his neck playing football. So I am really anti-football. I will probably watch NCIS reruns.
