My question is simple. When we dream, who controls what the other people say and do in our dreams?

I mean, in my dreams, other people have done things that suprise me, said totally unpredictable things to me, and even snuck up from behind me and scared the lights out of me in my dreams.

I know the obvious answer people will give is the unconscience mind, but somehow I find that answer unsatifying.

When I am half awake/ half asleep I can sometimes control them quite well.

Otherwise, the only thing I have been taught to say is the unconscious mind. Sorry :D

mostly the software on the cosmic server, when it isn't their players.

although i'm sure some will insist its all in their own heads.

It would be the little animals dancing in your head.

...or more precisely an involvement of the brains concrete and short-term memory influenced heavily by actions of the Limbic system I would speculate

This occurring among the many other actions of a resting mind on dream perception.

They say we only actually use a small percentage of our brains, when you're dreaming it's your subconscious mind alive. All the things you have absorbed in your entire life that you may not have really noticed. Falling asleep with the t.v on, over hearing conversations, the characters in your dreams take on a life of their own because essentially they're everything your not. So it's easy, reverse roles.

that still sounds like it could be the client side of a client server network to me.
