No. Only idiots associate the Republican party with Bush. The Republican party has done everything possible to alienate itself from Bush during the last years. It just amazes me how certain you are of your opinions, when they are ridiculously ignorant.
Do you know who has the republican's vote??? Because they seldom vote any other party.. That's my point. You're the ignorant one dude. This country isn't as up and coming and politically correct as you think it is. It's a nice idea to think that it is, but it's still racist, rich, and corrupt.
I think the votes speak different, Obama won in Iowa, Iowa, the same place Huckabee won, on the edge of the bible belt in America's heartland and farmland, the epitome of conservative white America, and Obama won there, by alot. I think people constantly think we're more backwards then we really are. Remember 1960 and Kennedy, "We can't elect a god damn Catholic to office! It'll never happen! The pope will rule us through him!" Or Perot in '92, he got almost 25% of the vote, like damn where did that come from.
This country is corrupt as hell. That's my point. This government is corrupt as hell. Republicans and Democrats are the same thing, since they are both powered by money and power. Ron Paul wants to limit government influence, which is the first step in fighting this corruption. Give me a break.
And so you must think that this brave sir ron paul is going to get in charge and make everything magically better? you give me a fuckin' break man.. Not paul, or huckabee, or obama, or clinton is going to make our government better. My point is that you're throwing your vote away by voting for ron paul. Just focus on getting the republicans out of office. Not whether or not medicinal marijuana will be legalized.
What the fuck are you talking about? Did I even mention medical marijuana? Did I say I was voting for Paul? Do you even read what I write? Are you on drugs?
id like to say first hand that pot is not the reason that im voting for paul. the fact that he is trying to limit government is the biggest issue that makes me want him to be president. will he win? not if the corporations that control this country have anything to say about it. but im voting for him in hopes he becomes the main republican candidate. if not, ill proly vote democrat. the only ppl that i REALLY dont want to win are hillary and guliani, oh and thompson. i like obama, and i like edwards, so if its between them, ill play eenie meenie minee mo, lol
The marijuana issue isn't that big for me at all, there are many other problems in this country that are far more important. Even if he doesn't win, if he can manage to get a decent amount of votes I think that would send a pretty big message to washington. Our gov't isn't going to get fixed overnight... edit: Jadesmom, RP is more of a libertarian than a modern republican. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Ok so you've been flaming me this whole thread and other's because why??? Because I was under the impression via ALL Of your arguments that you are a ron paul supporter.
Lets keep the shit slinging to a minimum. Threads like this get bad fast, and I'd rather not have this one bagged.
I'm not a Ron Paul supporter. I'm a common sense supporter. I'm not flaming you either. You are just completely ignoring everything that I'm saying and replying with the same crap over and over again. If you were actually reading my posts, then you would have learned that I dislike politics to begin with (as I stated) and that I wouldn't vote for anyone (as I stated). You are the one who's telling people to "fuck off" because they're foreign. I have a problem with that.
Apparently you're not understanding me either lol. I don't want anyone to leave or whatever.. I just don't like ron paul. I don't care if you vote or not.. Just leave me alone.
why i like Ron Paul. Foreign policy. there is no denying that his foreign policy is top notch, and 100% what this country needs. the government needs to stop policing the world and concentrate on our homeland!!! Boarders, make them secure and make initiatives for legal immigrating. lower the taxes! personally i am a republican, i believe in low taxes. i believe in personal responsibility and helping out your common man. i would like to decide where my money goes to help people, rather than giving it to the government to spend on the war. i donate hundreds of dollars a year to charities because its my responsibility to practice what i believe everyone should do. limited federal spending!!! were a country in fucking debt. and the government will spend money on the stupidest shit, seriously. Ron Paul has consistently voted against ridiculous spending of tax money. civil liberties, Ron believes in the constitution, as do i.... i demand my rights!!! states rights. give the power that the states are entitled to the states. we don't need BIG federal government doing anything but what is stated in article 1 of the constitution. this will also get people into local elections. local elections are the most important elections anyway. the decision that the local and state governments make affect your daily life much more that a presidential decision. yes i believe that the federal government has NO RIGHT to ban abortion, but the states do. so i believe that each state should have the right to say weather its citizens want legal abortion or not. the same with marriage. the federal government has NO RIGHT to legally define marriage for the country. it should be left up to the states to decide what the citizens think marriage is. he wants to get rid of the no child left behind act and the patriot act... thank god! environmentally he is a excellent voter, and would make great decisions regarding what needs to be done. i haven't looked into his health care plans too intensively. i don't go to the doctor, i don't take prescription drugs, and rarely even take OTC drugs. I'm very healthy and have no need for such things right now. medical marijuana industrial hemp prohibition of any drug doesn't work... it turns the user into a criminal which is ridiculous he wants to abolish the electoral college which is a wonderful thing! there are other reasons, a lot, but im tired. Ron Paul 08!
You told me to fuck off I cba to get into the old UK vs US argument because its boring, like you. You haven't made a new point in about 3 pages of posts and are just arguing for the sake of being a ****. I'm glad i dont live there, with people like you around i think i'd have jumped out of the nearest 'appartment block' and splattered on the 'sidewalk'
Well I'm 17 now, but I'm going to vote when it comes around in fall. So I decided to do some research and I think I like Ron Paul's idea in limiting the governments activities, I mean the marijuana part is a bonus though. If you do burn that is. I would still vote for him if I didn't burn though. But why is America responsible for every goddamn thing happening. So, uh-why don't you... suck my balls?
There is nothing wrong with young people being interested in politics and are expressing their opinions. Dont discourage young people from wanting to be involved. Its dosent matter who they support, at least they are interested in the election process. The current voting numbers are horendous, and they are finally coming up due to young peoples intrest.
You're right. Sorry. I guess it is important for young people to be involved in politics. Especially the stoner ones!!
aww, the marijuana forum finally has an intelligent political discussion and I miss it. Ron Paul is the only reasonable candidate. I won't take a second choice because he won't win. I support devolution and a strict interpretation of the constitution. And legalized pot is merely the tip of the iceberg, he wants to try and actually work to SOLVE the financial crisis/debt that this country has plunged into. While all the other candidates argue about bullshit issues like abortion completely ignoring the wolf at the door (our debt). And saying you won't vote for Ron Paul because of his limited exposure is basically saying that you'll let the mass media handpick your candidates. They'll be selecting your selections. That disgusts me. By supporting Ron Paul I am protesting this, along with the idea that candidates can run purely on charisma and looks, while the issues play second fiddle to their campaign. Ron Paul is where he is, not because he is black or a woman or a jesus freak, but because he addresses all the major issues clearly and has voted on them consistently for the last 20 years. A good summary of some of Paul's candidacy: http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=16044 PS) Huckabee is the worst candidate ever! He is an idiot who is running on the comfortable christian appeal that got fearless leader Bush elected. Disgusting. Have we learned anything????
