Who am I?

Discussion in 'Random Thoughts' started by Sleeping Caterpillar, May 13, 2013.

  1. Who am I? Who are you? What are we?

    Humans,
    A whisper of plight,
    Guardian of night,
    Silentious beings unheard, unscathed
    Slithering through this life
    But what of the next?
    How about the last?
    When will Silence be bound??

Scurry, our thoughts shall be sound
Insidious, will thy promise be found?
    In sight of the wind,
    In bloom will begin,
A furious grasp of our sin!

    But save all your worry,
    Your feelings grow surely,
How sunken are your eyes by now?
    Flea from the sorrow,
    Our ideas we will borrow
    Of indigenous prosperity throughout

    Seek the wandering final gloom
    Morning, Evening, nor afternoon
Why will our time end so soon?
Solemnly gathered I wait for our moon
    Sensuous divide my opportune
Seamlessly provide a sight of our room

I have never understood point nor sense of poetry.

It is just saying stuff using other words than usuall. You aren't making anything new or anything interesting.

If you have an important message to say, just say it and save others time.
Instead of searching for different words you could have been anylizing some other higher importance problems and maybe you would actually come up with something instead of doing nothing.

Anyone who has at least minimally functioning brain can write poetry.

But that is just my opinion...

I just had pizza. I ate it. It was good.

it always struck me as odd that poetry is seen as having some sort of monopoly on insight into the human condition when of all art forms few are as concerned with the arbitrary rules and constricts of form as poetry. i know this isn't true of all forms, stream of consciousness, for example, but if all language is the beginning of our repression then poetry must be the most repressive art form available.

    for the writer, at least.

this is a massive generalisation about poetic forms but there's some truth to it, i reckon.

Don't think with words, think with ideas.

  6. I like poetry, because I had my own idea when writing it, but we each have our own interpretation towards reading. Sorry you didn't connect

    Poetry is ideas over words

i am an outer eye that sees my physical surroundings
i am an inner eye that sees my nonphysical ones
i am not something that normally notices my own existence, except when i get tired or hungry.
i am not an i that matters to me, but an eye that sees a world that does.
