White Girl Weaves

Good morning all!

What do you think of white girls who get weaves? We've all seen the monstrosity on the head of Britney Spears; but are there white girls that can pull of a nice weave? And what kind of weaves are appropriate for white girls.

I've never known much about weaves in the African American community, but it seems that more and more white girls are going for this "trend."

 

Everyone has fake hair now.. I have a few clip on hair things and such. I would LOVE to get some of the much more expensive sort woven in.

Im trying to make the connection with Britney's picture and Gwyneth's, but I have no idea what we're talking about. Is it hair extensions?

 

White girls are always copying black girls. They've even got booties now.

of course extensions are a black girl thing. or at least, only black girls actually admit to having extensions.

i didn't know that's what a weave was though. and i haven't seen anything on britney spears' head in years.

 

In the U.S. it's been predominately black girls who get weaves.

 

I could get used to that

I've always seen it as more of a celebrity thing. People in show business always do all kinds of crazy things to their hair. Actually mostly a model thing, since they need to wear their hair so different depending of what they're doing.
I think there's only one girl that I've known personally who had extensions, that I've been aware of.

i think hair extensions are dumb and look stupid for the most part. either way, it's just gross. especially the human hair ones. save the human hair for the cancer kids, for christ sake!!!

 

There are a few girls here who do it, it's not really a big thing. Used to be more popular a while ago but now tonnes of people have got the whole Rihanna bob and cut their hair. People change their hair often, extensions are easier.

 

I used to have a giant afro wig that I would wear like a hat in cold weather.

My head stayed so warm in that thing

 

That is cool and I am jealous. All I have is a sombrero or a witch hat.
