It’s not that I hate them or can’t tolerate them, it’s just I do have friends and colleagues in my life who I would consider perhaps “NPD” or “Narcisstic personality disorder”, they seem to only care and talk about “Self Self Self Self Self” don’t know anything but them? Do you know anyone personally in your life or know people who you would label or consider “NPD” or Narcissists? First person I think of right of the top of my head would be maybe Trump, I’ve heard people say Donald Trump can be a complete narcissist!!!
Yes, I know some people with narcissistic vibes in my life. They can be a bit draining with their "me, me, me" attitude. I limit my interactions with them for my own peace. It's important to recognize and protect our energy from such vibes, like with public figures who exhibit similar traits. Peace and self-care first. ✌️
Apart from a slightly narcissistic lover, I can't think of anyone right now. Most narcissists don’t qualify for Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), because they don’t suffer from their narcissism, so NPD isn’t an increase of narcissism. I think it's important to have some basic knowledge about narcissism so that you can recognise narcissistic traits at a glance: Malignant narcissist Grandiose narcissist (most common) Covert narcissist Communal narcissist Lack of empathy (49:00) Entitlement Grandiosity Superficiality Chronic seeking of admiration or validation Tendency towards rage Arrogance https://www.youtube.com/@hgtudor-theultra/playlists The Most Narcissistic Presidents in Modern U.S. History Ranked https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/04/03/joe-biden-problem-ego-226566/ The 13 Traits of a Narcissist
It always amuses me when a person accuses their boss of being narcissistic because he expects them to do their job his way. They never complain at the end of the month when by doing their job his way, the boss who started from scratch has made enough money to pay their and a couple of dozen other workers salaries. I wonder how many people following heart surgery have arrived home and accused their surgeon of being narcissistic, for insisting that the theatre staff had to do everything exactly his way and not stopping half way through because the staff were due a tea break. Sometimes it an be a very fine line.
Almost nobody even knows how to use a common as dirt dictionary, and a quarter of the damn population worldwide insist the sun revolves around the earth. Narcissism is just another Latin word the lawyers use, to describe Professional Wrestling, which you can't fake on the Kindergarten playground. Academics keep attempting to own the word, but they don't have the money, and the Supreme Court loves to tell them all to go to hell.
Madonna strikes me as a solid example of narcissist. In her mind everything revolves around her, not the sun.
One common feature of narcissists is a lack of awareness of their own limitations. Everyone is good at some things while not so good at other things, but they seem to think they're great at everything, such as being President. Trump has been rated as the worst President ever, but you can't tell him that.
