The first time I heard 'And I Love Her' it made me cry. It was a live solo performance by Paul McCartney from the sixties that aired on VH1... I was 13 and the hormones were raging. *giggles*
i dont really cry from music, but these get to me: requiem for a dream some other shit (that last johnny cash CD is super sad) and that song on the radio (i hate it but.. ) that went "this house is not a home" that almost made me cry when i got kicked outa my house and had to live all uncomfortable in my sisters house, where im all in the way
D minor, the saddest of all keys. Makes people weep instantly. I think "Turn of the Century" by Yes is incredibly moving. It's about a sculptor who is so engrossed in his work that he doesn't notice his lady slowly dying. It's one of the few Yes songs where the lyrics make sense (I think the drummer wrote the words).
The last time it happened to me was to a live Oasis (more like Noel solo.. just him and his acoustic guitar) cover of The Beatles' "Help!"
Oh geez, I have so many songs that get to me. I'm an emotional kind of girl. I really FEEL the music, it touches me deep within, happy or sad.
Gates of Delerium by YES To Be Over by YES Awaken by YES actually most songs by YES and Supper's Ready by Genesis gets me going sometimes, usually when im drinking.
Theres been a couple marley songs that have made me cry when i've been depressed...... Three Little Birds comes to mind as one of them
After The Goldrush - Neil Young (the Live Rust version) Standing In The Doorway - Bob Dylan Long May You Run - Neil Young Simple Twist Of Fate - Bob Dylan In My Life - The Beatles Everybody's Alone - Neil Young Helpless - Neil Young Girl From The North Country - Bob Dylan Restless Farewell - Bob Dylan Bandit - Neil Young Ambulance Blues - Neil Young Thrasher - Neil Young
CRACK, I live YES, they are the best thing to happen to the earth ever, but it seems like most people cant pick it up because they are too critical when it comes to philosophy.
And Orsino better not have anything to say about that because he called Tales From Topographic Oceans a sloppy mess or some shit.
Well doesnt someone sound like they need to shut up. you want to turn this thread into another classic name calling contest? i got a a little time to kill.
RELAYER doooooood, wazzup?! Yeah, how could I forget "Gates of Delirium"? The ending vocal ballad requires at least 3 boxes of Kleenex. Something about Steve Howe's guitar (or is it pedal steel... I'm never quite sure) just yanks on the ole tear ducts. All about Steve
spaceduck, dont you feel bad for the people on this website that will never understand the magic of YES music? i know i do. kind of.
I really do. Coz I was there once. Listening to 4-minute radio candy & all. Don't get me wrong... the radio candy's cool if that's what you like, but there's another world if you have the patience.
Hey relayer, just one question and then I'll cease hijacking this thread... what sort of music were you into before you discovered Yes? Man, I was into some really cheezy stuff... too embarrassed mention.
