It's one of those words people use to sound smart. "Lots of" to the layperson.

heh, or a fuck ton to Loduiperson.

I like spiking profanity and big words together like dissident did.

Makes ya sound smart and a bad ass all at once. Big words seem more concise if you through the word fuck around with em. Fucking concise. [IMG]

Sometimes I use big words without knowing the full meaning of them. I weigh whether I'm using the word in the right context or if I'm going to look like an idiot, and usually just do it regardless.

I contribute this bad habit from a childhood of reading Calvin & Hobbes.

On a serious note, I chose the Nobel winning scientist Dr. Norman Borlaug, who sparked the green revolution and saved over a billion lives from starvation by the time he won the Nobel Prize in 1970.

A true genuis and humanitarian who revolutionized the way people feed themselves, Dr. Borlaug is the greatest man who's ever lived. I would take him over ten Jesus, a Lincoln, and a couple Mother Theresas in a pear tree.

    Truly an amazing man.

He was a hansome guy too.

Hah, I just found all my old Calvin and Hobbes books the other day. That was such a great comic.

Susie: What do those clouds look like to you?

Calvin: A suspended mass of water and ice particles. Why?

    *Susie walks away mad*

Calvin: Everyone hates a literalist. [IMG]

It just so happens that I am smart and a bad ass all at once (and I didn't take offence to any of your posts). And I never thought "copious" was a big word... I use it all the time. It just gets really old when you say "shitload" "fuck ton" "assload" things like that. Besides, it is, like Lodui said, a great way to come across as educated, and then you put in that profanity and kick 'em in the ass a little at the same time.
