After much searching in most local stores, and to no avail, I have decided to use ebay to purchase Dr. Bronners soap.

But which of these should I use?

I'm not 100% sure which ingredients to avoid and which to use.

If anybody can take a quick look at that link for me, and advise, I'd be most grateful.

Or better still, if somebody could tell me which stores stock it in the UK?

    Thank you in advance,

I think it's as much personal preference as anything. I've always prefered the liquid over the bar. I use the peppermint, because it just so fresh feeling, except in the winter when I tend to get dryer skin. Then I use the almond oil.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, I want to use the most appropriate soap just before I backcomb. So as I understand, I need it to be residue free.

I'm not sure if all Dr. Bronners products are appropriate for the pre backcomb wash.

Are they all suitable for getting my hair residue free and frizzy?

    Thanks.

they are all suitable. dr bronners soaps are all basically the same formula with different essential oils added to make the different scents. i get the baby mild one which is unscented and add my own essential oils.

i'm a big fan of the peppermint because it wakes me up and feels so refreshing.
i just squirt some in a cup and fill the cup with water from the shower and massage it on my scalp... yum!

I used the unscented last night and I liked it just fine. I never knew to use Bronners on my hair. I use it to clean EVERYthing around my house though. I dilute it and put it in large spray bottles. I like the peppermint and lavendar, too. SE mentioned that peppermint, tea tree, and eucalyptus will help clear the sinuses, and ITA. I use an oil burner with those 3 oils when I wake up stuffy in the winter :) So consider using one of those when/if you get sick. I love Bronners. I have always used the unscented on my children in the bath. Good stuff. I actually get mine through Frontier and it's SUPER cheap (it's a co-op, you can Google it) and we all pitch in together to order each month. I get all of my bulk herbs, homeopathics, etc through Frontier as well, they rock!

Do you guys just pour it on your head after you dilute it or somehow rub it in? It says to mix it with two gallons of water, but the substance in the end won't really stay in my hand too well. I got the lavendar bar soap and the pepermint liquid soap.

Lushes now discontinued "so your scalp is a sticky bloody mess" treatment (pre-snake oil) had loads of peppermint in it so i guess you'll gain some scalp benefits from the peppermint.

The reason it was discontinued which I can personally attest to is the fact that if you got it on your hair it would not come out. This is fine when you have a nice GF who will force you to buy expensive lush products and then apply them to your scalp. But after she has gone you will try and apply it yourself probably get it mostly on your hair, and then you will find it takes 8 fucking washes to stop looking like you have just lost a fight to a stick of butter. It did work fucking amazing BTW.

You don't have to follow the dilution recco's exactly ;) I like to squirt a wee amount into my hand and lather it up then apply to wet dreads (not under a stream of water). Another option would be to mix a few drops w/water in a peri bottle or something similar, shake it and squirt it on and lather it up. If you don't like either of those methods you could always use an old soap pump. Rinse it well, fill with water and a few drops of Bronners and squirt it on.

take an empty bonners bottle put like 1 inch of bronners in then fill to top with water
    thats about perfect dilution
the 2 galln of water thing u read isnt for use as a shampoo but as a refreshing facial skin treatment
for that u want it very weak
but for general washing 10-1 to 2-1is a goodrange
the squirts to 2 galons is mpre ke a 2000-1 ratio

lol. ok, good thing i asked, otherwise I probably would've gone months thinking im washing my hair while doing nothing, washing with hair wraps wont be a problem will it? Should I apply the salt spray to my hair with the wraps on prior to washing?

That's so weird to me because where I live it's available everywhere.

Personal preference. I like lavender, peppermint and almond both bar and liquid. I use Dr. B for everything from my floors to my teeth but I do not like it at all for hair.

If you want to get your hair very clean prior to backcombing you might consider something like the 7th Gen dish liquid.
