Which Dead shows should I go to, MSG or Izod Center?

I live in Manhattan and this will be my first chance as a fan to see The Dead (as opposed to Phil or Bob solo). I'm super stoked, and I want to go to more than one show. They are playing one show on a Saturday (I think) at Madison Square Garden. The Dead are known to play very well at MSG. But, the ticket prices for MSG are outrageous. They are playing two shows at the Izod Center right across the river in Jersey. I already bought one mid-level ticket for one of the Izod shows, so now it comes down to my choice which is:

A. Pay $150 for a really sick seat at the second Izod center show and fuckin' rock out on the floor
B. Pay $150 for a shitty seat at MSG and witness a potentially legendary performance
C. Throw caution to the wind and pay God knows what for a really good seat at MSG

Money isn't a huge issue, but my main question is whether you experienced Deadheads think the MSG show will be significantly better than the Izod Center shows. Will I really be missing out if I skip the MSG show to see the second Izod Center show, or should I just ignore the fact that it's MSG vs. Izod and go for the great seat at the Izod center? Thanks a lot for your advice

I'd love to man. I actually just called you not 10 minutes ago, but your number must have changed. I was thinking about going to one at the Spectrum, but the Izod Center isn't too hard for you to get to, either.

I'll probably go to the show in philly the tickets are way cheaper.

 

i would go to the one where i have a better chance of getting acid at...but i might be going to the msg one

 

I think the show I'm hoping to go to is the best. Special guests, The Allman Brothers Band and The Doobie Brothers. Plus I'll be in the grass at a natural gorge amphitheater.

 

you guys think their would be acid at the msg one? if i went i would drop before hand but you think people will be able to get acid into the concert?

 

I'm sure there will be, I might camp at the campgrounds near my show and I bet there will be some drugs. And they aren't too hard to get into shows.

Is there a two ticket minimum at your show? At mine I have to buy two or I can't get any.

It's hit or miss with L at shows. A lot of it depends, obviously, on availability. Sometimes things are dry, especially at non-summer shows, and either no one or only one or two people at any given show will be holding. Also, it depends on the venue and how lax the security is. At some venues, you can smoke pot just about wherever/whenever you like and no one will do anything, whereas other places do pretty serious pat downs and throw out anyone they see smoking a J.

try to keep it on the d/l though... I know it's obvious there is L there, but the less we talk about it the better.
