I'm kinda baffles that all these people are dying in the streets in New Orleans. Dying of dehydration. Why haven't they dropped supplies for these people? They dropped some, but it's obviously not enough. There should be more than enough resourses to keep these people alive while they wait. Where's the government now? This is really disturbing if you out it into a larger context. This could happen to anyone anywhere.

It may just be a combination of dis-organization and the obstacles caused by the hurricane and flooding itself.

It's also not helping that snipers are shooting at rescue helicopters. :(

It also doesn't help that a lot of the mississippi, louisiana, and other national guard troops are in iraq.

My point being that it would take no longer than an hour to start dropping supplies if such an order were given. It has been declared a state of emergency, and under the current laws of the U S they can exercise a lot of power under a state of emergency, power enough to send a barrage of supplies to the people who are dying by the hour and so desperately need it. If it were treated as importantly as it should and could, a lot more would have been done.

The state of things there is really unreal. It deteriorated into a third world zone in less than 3 days. The city has been called dead. There have not been refugees in the U S like this for a long time. It's crushing to see the people dragging their dead with them, or seeing other dead people sittingup against a wall, or layin gon the side of the highway, alone, and no one to claim them. It's understandable why they are so angry, and violent. I can see why they would break into supermarkets for food, or steal some shoes from an abandoned shop so that their feet don't get cut. The help they are recieving is inadequate.

This is ridiculous!!! If this had happened in another country the US would have sent people/money there immediately!! Yet we sit around and do nothing while our own people are dying and hurting and NEED HELP! I can not believe this!! And how long has it been now that our Government has been telling us 'we're ready for another terrorist attack, etc.' BULLSHIT! You aren't even ready (still) for a hurricane that you knew was coming!!!!! If we were to be hit by a terrorist attack in the next few days somewhere, we'd be FUCKED! [IMG]
