Nobody wants to invite the 'OLD DUDE' to the Party anymore! Did you ever notice that? You can't put the moves on really young hot chicklets, or you'll be known as a 'Dirty Old Man'! Now I have to go to a foreign country where all they want is a nice guy, and I sit next to their Daddy's who are my age. But I just miss going to the parties that are crowded, people passing the Bong. And nowadays you aren't allowed to Drink and Drive. In the Seventies I got pulled over all the time, and the cops would make me pour out all the beer, and tell me not to be drinking anymore. I guess the roads are more crowded now. I always wanted to go to an Extasy party, but I'd just be known as the OLD DUDE! There is no way I'd ever be able to find one of THOSE nowadays. Guess I'll have to move to Amsterdam, or Thailand!

Yea-I was talkin about that a couple days ago with a friend of mine. I cannot ever remember anyone ever going to jail in the 60s for drunk driving-They usually gave ya a ticket and drove ya home or let someone else drive the car' but unless you got nasty with the cop they let you go-The tickets were maybe a couple hundred bucks-I'm not proud to say that in the 70s I got three DUIs in Salem Oregon alone-I had a lawyer and spent the total of one weekend in jail!-Paid a fine and was suspended for 30 days-Thats it-Yes-it was alot easier to skate but in my case and others I know it just put off the problem a little longer-I'm glad they got tough on that actually-I am real happy and very fortuanate to not have killed somebody on the way home from a rock bar-dumb!-Surving the years of 21 to 30 is the biggest challenge to most people. We are bulletproof and nothing can stop us-hahahha--I loved it-even though it was a high risk time-I like the age I am now too-it's nice to relax and unwind after so many chemicals have cooked their way through this chemical dumping ground I call a brain-hahahahaha-It's all good!-Say something nice to someone today-make someone smile-it goes around-and it actually could create the beginning of the ending of a war!

It used to be that a party was not even called a party. It was just a group of people gettng together to lay on the grass in the park' drink wine' smoke weed and maybe do some acid. It could be with complete strangers and we would have guitars and congos and flutes etc. These small spur of the moment type parties had a purpose sometimes beyond just getting loaded. They were a good place to meet up with someone you lost track of the week before or months before. The dance halls were mainly at night but the free shows in the park were in the aftrenoons and you could hook back up wth people you lost as a result of the "purlpe haze-all round my brain"-When you were peaking on Owsleys stuff' taking notes or remembering much the next day was pretty much out of the queastion. When you have buildings swaying and the streets heaving up and down and peoples faces are very distorted-hahaha-need I say more?-The best and safest parties were in the park-Golden Gate. Alwats lots of fun and good energy going around there.To Itchicoo Park!-A good party for me was when I was jamming on my flute or sax with other musicians or just being quiet and listening to older people talk-I was only 18 when I started going to the concert halls-Everyone else was older and had real long hair and were very mellow-I learned to listen at those early shows-At a good Gathering Of The Tribes' younger people can learn from the older people-and actually visa-versa-The party can serve a purpose and be useful to anyone wanting to learn things. After all 'thats really all life is One Big Learning Curve after Another On This Long Road Home--
Out in the Sticks and Young Dead Head-I would tell you that you don't need drugs to have fun but thats up to you. I did em all and was strung out on everything at one time or another-Me and my friends delt them for years, I would say that was very stupid of us-We were dealing in Europe where the jail time was real long-We smuggled them into this country and then I quit!-That was it-If you have been to even a county jail 'that should be enought to get you to stop-It was for me-I have always liked freedom and the ocean as a surfer in San Francisco-There is nothing more important than family-love and freedom-IMHO-good luck-
