i might be visiting NYC soon but i might not have a home. the village obviously aint the place it used to be...im wondering if there is a part of town nowadays where vagrants are common/welcome. i just might need a place to stay and i was wondering if these places existed...thanks

vagrants are not welcome in NYC. You can live out on the street, I see it all the time.

But, don't come here without at least a stay at a hostel. You'd be much better off.

There are a few hostels here. very cheap.

You can try the homeless shelters if you're really hard up they're about $7 bucks a night and that usually includes dinner and breakfast, but you'll have to put up with the shady characters that go with it.

I live in New York City. Let me know if you go again and need a place.

Vagrants and homeless people swarm the streets of New York nightly. Maybe get a hotel in New Jersey and take PATH.
