I was in the very early stages of being a teenager. So I was at a family party, having wine passed under the table from my older cousins.

So where where you, what where you doing on new years eve 1999?

I was alone, on a hill, above fields of countryside that overlooked local villages, housing estates and the International Airport of Manchester.
I looked to the vastness of sky, in expection? - well it was in awe.
It began quietly before as the hours moved towards midnight, and the gentle murmur of party noise grew into groan and then rumble.
There was no need for a clock as the skyline exploded around me with the noise, sparkle and explosion of fireworks.
A moving picture show that lasted for some time, and for me a hearalded in a new age of witch would play a much more profound and meaningful lifstyle of conviction.
And as always, time rolls (ever) on

I was young, but we were living with a friend of my moms at the time...I remember it was the first time my mom drank in YEARS, so she was out cold on the couch while I watched the "world ending" across the world.

Those were strange times in my life...

I was reading in bed. It was the first time I ever stayed up that late intentionally. I was 13 years old, and I was highly disappointed when the most that happened was my neighbors started hooting and hollering and setting off fireworks. I stayed up until about 12:30 and then gave up on the world ending and decided if I woke up dead, that'd be alright, and I rolled over and went to sleep. I have a feeling I shall do similar this December.

I was on this web site, in the chatrroom, chatting. It was one of my first times here. That was around the time Phish played a big show in FL.

I probably went to bed early ... never been one for celebrating New Year, really, and I didn't believe a word of the millennium bug nonsense either.

My boyfriend of the time lived with his parents in a really small town near my city (maybe 100 inhabitants). He had gotten permission to throw a party at their house while the parents were away, so we invited a bunch of friends, played videogames and got high/drunk. Then before midnight we went for a walk in the village to see if anything was going on, and the nice surprise was that pretty much everyone from the village was gathered at the village square, they were pouring champagne and they were super welcoming and nice. So we did the countdown and hugged. It was simple but its a great memory because we didn't expect to have such a great time.

where i used to live in MI, i got into a car accident and hit my head on the steering wheel and blacked out for a couple secs. car got towed, and me and my gf went to where we were supposed to go- some rednecks house in the woods. well i had some acid, and i took it. i had a fat 8th, and smoked out a 12 yr old kid, and everyone drank liquor all night. i kept sneaking off w/ the old rednecks and getting smoked out. i was wigging ballz when the ball dropped watching tv and i was like, "woa the power didnt go out", then i was like "woa obviously the power didnt go out cuz im still watching tv lol"

well i kept sneaking off smoking ganj, then my gf was wasted and laying on a couch, and asked me to kiss her, she looked like her head was upside down, and i still did it.
then we went out to a trailer (fucking cold, but i was trippin) and she looked like a zombie in my mind and guess what;....I STILL DID IT lol, twice man.

    yep best new years ever!!

The Number one video of the century was MLK Jr. I have a dream speech [IMG]
