Support your favorite artists and buy the cd. Lots of cds are only $8 to $10 if you buy the mp3. Then burn it to a cd for hardcopy incase your computer crashes or ipod or whatever is lost.

Those you dont give a damn about but just like that one song here and there, youtube.

    Torrent, or download from youtube.

Youtube also has all sorts of awesome rare shit that you literally won't find ANYWHERE else.

Couldn't agree with you more. Some sites offer really cheap and legal mp3s. Ivave only charges 5 cents per mp3, so there's really no excuse for illegal downloading, least not lack of money. If you love the artist, buy their album. If you don't, you are stealing money from them.

Spotify is also good, I'd thoroughly recommend using that! :)

I still get tons of great free music off Mediafire, Rapidshare and others. Then again, that's mostly older stuff. The newer released stuff tends to be removed fairly quickly, but what you're looking for can usually be found if you look hard enough. I take advantage of Filestube (a search engine for downloads) when I can't find what I am looking for searching blogs.

The only music I download is free. Fuck paying a buck per song on iTunes.

On a side note, I never download individual songs. I am an album-oriented person.
