In the final days, the flieds of flowers will be turned into parking lots, and stores which exploit the human mind with greed shall be erected. James~ 1.1

Is that a prediction of the end of the world, or just as we know it?

    Dear Kurtkobain,
Here is one flower of the 60's and early 70's, and at this stage of the game I am tired of this life, this world, and this America. I could go on and on, but I'll tell you things have been happening me the last 14 years in such a bad way, that you wouldn't even believe (but maybe you would). You may even know, what I'm talking about. And, it is so contrary to my beliefs and how I lived in the 60's and 70's and there are those that will tell you "that's life". Bull......that is not life---in fact, it is death and lead to it. Struggling and struggling to try to get a life and getting harassed for no reason along the way. What is this some kind of a joke?
But, I'll tell you that I'm out of here. Out of the country and when I get some money together I'm heading for the hills and I mean literally. Maybe Canada or wherever, but not here. I broke my leg in Jan. '05. Was in a crosswalk as a pedestrian and was hit by a car and it wasn't my fault. And, all the agencies and throw in the doctors, have pretty much treated badly and in an unjust way and none of this has been my fault to begin with. This is just in the last 8 months and it isn't over yet, because I haven't fully recovered. But, when I do, I'm going to get money together and on my way and find someone who thinks, believes, and will live like myself (which would be them too--I mean they are an individual). It wouldn't be my influence, only we would be alike. So, to get to my point, I am looking for people with these experiences and/or beliefs to get together and make a life in the mountains or near the rivers, etc. I don't mean start a commune, but find someplace that is already like that. Do you know what I mean? Now, I don't have any money and been looking for work and food and rent assistance (for the first time). The DES isn't helping me and I'm finding out these institutions and agencies really don't or can't help you. I am now disabled and it doesn't matter. So, my point is I'm leaving this America and getting out. It is bad to be abandoned and feel this way.
Thank you for your time and if you could let me know of any places that are existing (especially outside the U.S.) I would thank you for it.
I am in Tucson, Arizona right now, but the assistance is bad. I want to say sorry for saying all of these things, but they are true.
    Sincerely,
    Todd D. (Hippy Small Town)

Where have all the flowers gone? I love that old song. I used to play it so often I wore out my brothers Joan Baez record. Sung it a lot too. Lets just hope they keep blooming with this world going the way it is. With all the pollution and modern lifestyle and all they are all on the endangered list. But as long as there are flower children maybe they have a chance. With the new generation of hippies keeping up the prayers and helping to heal the earth and living light on our mother they will survive.

    Hey Hippysmalltown,

I sincereley hope you find the right people..the right place..
and the right commune to live with..it's not like in the sixties
anymore...but the spirit should be there..I never lived in any
commune since I was a gypsie between 1969-1976..
Concerning your problems..try to fight back..never give up..
show them..you're a someone who knows how to fight back:)
    About the song..sure it's O.K...it's Joan Baez I guess??
the words sure are very inspiring..
I believe this group started by Shameless and Rancher..
will get people to respond to it..
    Emiel.
