    I rep Pittsburgh
I could care less about PA
America's awesome, and I sure like bashing the South, so I vicariously rep the North
fuck all the schools I went to
    but GO Internet =D
and going a little further back into my heritage: go Poland, fuck France, go Germany

Where are the places you feel pride for?

I feel pride for all of the countries in which my ancestors came from.

And of course, pride for the US where I was born and raised!

I feel pride for my husband's place of employment.

I feel pride for my neighborhood, it's well taken care of, lots of friendly people, and a good area. Too bad the school system isn't a good one, at least, after elementary school it's not. Which is why I'll continue taking them to another school district until we figure out where we're going to move to.

I feel pride for the city which my kids play football/cheer for. Got that team spirit going on for them! Go red, white, and black!

    Hi,

I don't feel pride for a country or such stuff. To be honest, I don't even understand that concept. I feel pride if I make a good job, if I can bring a project to a successful end or if I can share things I'm good in.

I find that interesting again and again. You guys go like 'Whoho, pride. Best country in the world.' etc. Our people here are more like 'Hm, it's a country. There are others. Well, it's not that bad.' Perhaps you could give us a portion of your national pride ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

Oh, but I didn't say I think it's the best country in the world. To claim that when I've never lived in another country would be somewhat arrogant IMHO! :D

However, I do feel pride for my country, I mean hey, you gotta admit, we've done some good, right? ;)

The reason I feel pride for America is NOT it's current state. In fact, it's mostly it's history, particularly the revolutionary history and the actual Constitution, and the amendments.

I feel at it's heart America is a good place, that has raised a lot of great people throughout it's short time. Often, particularly these days, it does bad when trying to do good, but it tries.

Also, America has led the advancement of many fields, and it led the Industrial Revolution, and gave the world the Internet we're posting right now.

I am proud of my bro and parents. I'm proud of Dean and the music we write. And I'm proud of various other achievements here and there.

    Hi,

I've exaggerated a little bit to make my point. It's not meant as a judgment or something like that.

Sure ;). I can remember times when people from the US are very welcome in my country. We had always to say something good about them (and vice versa I hope ;-). About 30 years ago a school friend of mine died in a traffic accident. US soldiers were the only ones that gave first aid. The other people just stood around and watched.

I hope that we all learned something from the past ten years and that we can act normal again in another ten years.

    Regards
    Gyro

    Hi,

well, I'm not exactly sure if Knight Commander Berners-Lee would agree with that ;). OK, some key technologies like Unix, the now used IP etc. are invented at US universities.

    He is British, huh?
But not even just the creation of it. It was Gore's legislation that brought the Internet to open public usage (which I reckon would've happened eventually, but still =P)

Why would I take pride in something I didn't achieve?

    Hi,

jepp, he is British, 'invented' the www at Cern in Switzerland, probably funded with money from half a dozen countries.

How is internet connectivity in the US for private households? How much bandwith on average? Do you pay per volume, per time, flat rate?

    Regards
    Gyro

a have a slight amount of american, polish, and italian pride. but nothing huge. crack wop polak and american jokes all you want at me, as long as theyre in good fun.

add good dose of family pride and a small embarrassing dose of friends pride too.
