I have so many opinions...about the government and other things and whatnot...and I would really loooove to take part in a protest....does anyone know how I can get involved in one, or make one happen. Or does anyone have any information on protest rally going on in the new york area? I hear they happen all the time, I just don't know where to find one....

get involved with some organizations that interest you... they're usually among the first to know of a protest pertenant to their group.

other than that, check out sites like http://indymedia.org and check up on now and planned parenthood and such. answer puts on big anti-war protests so they'll have stuff on their site when it happens. you can also volunteer with these groups to pass out stickes and check other groups in, etc.

simple acts of civil disobedience can be just as affective as a protest. so even if there's not a big event planned, you can still have sit-ins. block the entrances to chemical plants that wreck the air, or companies whose run-off pollutes streams. open some cages. you know. or distribute hand-outs/flyes about puppy mills outside of petco. whatever makes you tick. get creative with it, and the options are limitless.

have fun and good luck! i hope your message is heard and that you remain safe. :)

There will probably be some action on March 20 in New York, why don't you look into that.

I like to go lobbying, but I agree with the others... nothing beats getting involved with some solid organizations and starting out full-force.

It's easiest to fight the system through the system, that the way it was set up. If you feel that that's not enough, that there is something completely unjust you should help with, bring it to public eye (where the protesting comes in). It's either your knowlege power or Stregnth in numbers, that make the big changes. but i don't know of any.
It sounds to me like you want to be a part of a cause thats for the better of people. Are you informed about the current issues where you live? If so which ones do you feel need correcting?
I myself am catching up by taking political classes at school to help me learn about the state of the world right now.

Another thing that may interest you is the Rainbow family gathering. It's July 1-7 and it's somewhere in the mid-Atlantic region. Maybe Massachusetts- Not sure. - Goodluck & Peace.

Whatever you do, don't throw a snowball at the president's car. My stupid friend got arrested for doing that on Friday when Bush came to my town...and my other friends who were standing around him, doing nothing, got arrested too. It's crazy. So yeah...don't be a moron about it, is all I'm saying...:-D
