On thanksgiving are you spending it with family? I am going to my moms to help cook that turkey. How about you?
im going to my dads, but just so i can see all my old friends. hopefully i can avoid my dad and his side of the family most of the time i'm there.
Will you be helping cook? My mom has me and my sis in charge of cooking 1 of the 2 turkey's. She gave us the easy recipe tho. Its the 2-hour recipe. You cook it at 475 for 2-hours and taa-daa! We got it online from Safeway. Has easy "how-to" videos and everything. I don't think we are gonna mess this up... Have you ever heard about that recipe or has your family used it before? I think it's the perfect "first time" recipe to follow since it so easy.
no, my grandma does all the cooking and wont let anyone help. i dont know exactly how she does it, but im sure its how her mother taught her and mother's mother and so on. her food is pretty amazing! : )
i am spending the day with my mom's family and extended family and whoever else they invite. Everyone helps with the cooking (i am either attempting to make a tofurky or sometype of thanksgiving vegetarian type supepr pie)
You are going to have to take over the cooking one day. I hear you on the "grandma's cooking" deal, but ours doesn't cook anymore. We are the next generation of cookers! This recipe is really easy and quick too, just how we like it. Well, quick considering the old 5+ hours that was spent slooooowly cooking the turkey.
this past year was a portabella wellington type thing... a collection of vegetables cooking up to make a type of stuffing, topping a portabella mushroom cap, and placed between 2 squares of puffed pastry... then baked. YUM for me and for my grandfather (who has been ordered by his doctor to cut down on his meat consumption)
