Hi, I planted some germinated seeds about 2 weeks ago, and 3 of them have since sprouted and are about 3 inches tall each. Currently, they are in about 3.5" wide containers with about 4.8" of soil. I am wondering when exactly I should transplant to bigger containers, and what size those containers should be? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
This one's one of those "person preference" Q's :>) They should be fine in those containers till they're 6"-8" tall or till the roots start peeking out of the bottom :>) now here's where grower's differ some say go to a 6" pot next then a 10-12" pot to grow!>) My experience with that method is that each time one transplants the babies take from 5-10 days to settle in to their new home before growing to the next level! So I take 'em out of the 3" pot directly into the pot or in my case the basket (for hydro) that will bed them for the duration of growth:>D It's not an exact science which is good, 'cause even an Orangutan can grow beautiful plants =>D
Sweet. New update on plants is that they are reaching around 5" of growth. Im a bit worried they're becoming elongated, but Im gonna wait another week, transplant, takes some pics and see where they are from there.
"I'm a bit worried they're becoming elongated" This usually happens when they aren't getting enough light or light is too far away, kinda like this old Orang in the winter tryin' to get closer to fireplace =>)
