When People Plan Your Day or Life For You...

Do you have people who will plan something for you and not tell you about it? This is one thing that drives me insane, it's mostly a social thing, like "oh we're going to a game or a party or dinner in an hour, get dressed."

I really don't like that. I used to always just decide not to go and ruin it for people who do that but now that I have kids I tend to suck it up and go for them. I think it's really disrespectful though to do that and on more than one occasion I've left town or been otherwise available without knowing that other people had plans for me.

 

I plan my own life. People are more than welcome to invite me, but they won't force me.

 

I'm usually the planner. Occasionally my husband will inform me that people are coming over to our house last minute. I'm pretty "go with the flow" so I don't really get too worked up about it.

 

Sounds like someone is married, I know how this story goes.....

 

You would think that...I may as well be married, but I think the problem is that I go with the flow too much and I never speak out against people who disrespect me so they continue to do so. Not married just a good old doormat.

Nobody really plans anything for me without asking me in advance.

 

Usually I will individually stay the fuck out of these situations and disappoint people. I'm a bit spontaneous and I don't tell people my plans unless they're involved with my plans. I think maybe people feel like because I'm not likely to want to be involved anyway they should just spring things on me at the last minute.

This is my family, btw. My friends know better.

 

I actually like when people do this! It can be fun and spontaneous. I'm usually down for anything, so I don't mind at all. If I don't want to go, I just say no.
