not that i'm proud (more the oppsite really...abit atleast) kind of a mixed feeling i guess but yeah there was only 1 person working inside and he was busy and the rest of the store was empty so i just took a 1 dollar pack of candy. i figure i'm not gonna make it a habit. Still trying to figure out if i would of done this if i was not high probably not cuase i would'nt have such a impulse to take food but i'm just gonna believe that weed does impair judgement as one of the more magor effects now.

If it was some small store I would probably say you shouldn't have done it.

But, 7/11 makes millions of dollars a day. One dollar doesn't mean shit. I would say they can take the loss.

imo theres a difference: stealing from a person where he gets a loss, and stealing from a corporation where guys with a ferrarri lose a few bucks.

ive stolen from shops when i was younger, im not proud and i dont do it anymore, it was a rush with friends, every day from school we would walk home instead of catching a bus, and steal something from everystore we passed. we made a technique and everything to make it seem legit like were looking for something and shit. after like 2 weeks it wasnt fun anymore, so we stoped.

it doesn't really matter, its only a dollar. But don't try and justify it by saying it doesn't matter because you stole from a corporation, that doesn't really make it a whole lot better or worse.

i have never stole anything, and i don't think i'd ever have the balls to do it.
i'm 19 anyway, so i grew out of the phase of even thinking about stealing.

but at least you were honest, and only stole something that cost $1

yes it does. u steal a pc from a pc store, some millionaire loses out on some money which he probably spends just for a bottle of wine. you steal a pc from a home, that family will not have a pc untill they shell out 1k, which to most average people who dont own massive corps is alot of money. so it does make it hella better then worse. i could never steal from a person as i said... well unless they tried to rob me or soemthing, i injured them and had a chance to repay the favour. but an innocent person, never. i stole alot of shit from my school also, they were giving crap food and way more expensive in the outside world, and also u couldnt leave to the outside world @ lunch or break. so i repaid the favour by stealing some wirecutters, a hell of alot crocodile clips, holepunch, scalpels from the store room and alot of other shit which i dint really need. the school was getting alot of cash, and spending most on what we didnt need, the teachers sucked, the facilities sucked, the computers sucked, 12 new cameras places, 12 new fake cameras placed. cheers to uk education, be affraid of CCTV not math !

I don't really see the point of stealing something that's worth a dollar. High risk, practically no outcome.

I stole a bit of food from Walmart back when I had no money at all and no way of getting a job. It was pretty much starve or go through that self-checkout line. It's not something that I regret, but I wouldn't steal again unless I had no other choice.

Its a major cliche to say 'oh they're big corporations so it's ok'.

So you like to rob from people because they're successful? You woudln't rob from a small store... but what about when that small store opens up another store.. and then another... is it 'ok' to steal from them now that they've got somewhere in life and you havent?

I say 'fuck the law and rob because your hungry and you can'... not 'fuck the law because i hate capitalism and i'm an angry hippy.'

If you feel like it.. then take the risk.. just as someone else said, your simply moving a product around.. the 'ownership' part is only something to feel guilty about if you make it something to feel guilty about.

However, i think that the risk envolved with stealing is a prtty big gamble to take.. far easier to earn/borrow a little cash and buy it.

^ I rob from them because they rob the public, its not cuz I hate capitalism but I hate the people who are behind it all.

    Oh, that's such crap.

Do you even know your facts about Walmart?

There is a whole negative aspect to it... but at the same time Walmart has helped establish a very competitive market which makes a whole lot of things a lot more available to you... the consumer.

Do you really want food to cost more money?

^ yah but about the "mom and pop" business' that people DONT want to steal from..... WHO STOLE THEM RIGHT OFF THE STREET? Walmart...they outcast any rivals and I think its sad that they drive out business'. Im glad walmart uses products that chinese workers make which have lead in them, I really am, the market has so many better products. Ive never bought food from walmart either....in fact if food cost more I would bend over backwards to pay for it just knowning that kids have better jobs and arent worked to death for little pay. Its nice though knowning that you can get cheap products while others are living in waste. Guess I dont know my facts about walmart huh? Its NOT only walmart who has given the consumer more goods, its other companies who compete with walmart because they are being driven out. New products are made not because they want the consumer to have more but because they want more money from your pockets and need to stay on top. Im in 4 business classes in college right now....... if anybody I would think you bravesir, would dislike walmart....

Home value decreases by 10% if in a 2mile radius of walmart also....

If it's your first time stealing, then as long as it doesn't turn into a habit, it really doesn't matter that much; a little bit of a rush b/c you've never stolen before, and a free candy bar? Shit, sounds legit.

Here's how I look at it, though; who benefits from all of this, and who suffers from it?

Benefit: You (free food!) So, it looks like you're the only one that really benefits from it.

Suffer: Perhaps the Franchisor or Franchisee or what-have-you that owns the 7-11, and then his family and anyone that he may have to support.

So, looking at it like that, you're causing more harm than doing good, really. So I would try to avoid stealing in the future if I were you, although I tend to agree with the general consensus here; corporations can stand to (and expect to) make a few losses here and there from products that people steal. Average Joes, on the other hand, can't afford to have their things stolen from them. Just try to think of others before you do anything, and don't feel bad about what you've done - I hate stealing, but if I'm drunk then I become a Free Products! magnet, so I shouldn't be lecturing anyone. Heh heh, whoops!
