there was nothing to it.... 80s hair metal is exactly what its name is.... HAIR! now good old rock and roll im talking 60s and 70s rock and roll meant something man! it will never truly die...... lets just say its retired.......
If you take rock n roll seriously your just not gettin it..Rock music is ment to be listened to with a open mind and no preconcived notions. Its just music to have a good time to..
Excellent point, dude. I do think there is rock music out there that is sophisticated enough to be taken semi-seriously, but I certainly don't think rock music has to be serious or sophisticated to be entertaining. ZW eace:
point taken..material like elp, yes, rush, and the like does have a air of sophistacation about it.mostly musicians themselves lean toward that type of music(which i am one).A good rock n roll song will have done its job when you tap on the table, and it gets in your head.
Let just say you skipped two decades. By the way, I take my rock very seriously just because I love it!
EXACTLY, well put. Btw, I am a little disappointed to see so many saying that rock n roll died... if anything, it's stronger than ever.
indeeed i love the music i listen to as well, anything from moody blues to motorhead..but my point is i dont overthink the music.I dont always have to to know why i like something..i keep it simple any try not to read too much into things..
So what are you guys trying to say? That Rock n' Roll only faked it's death and is alive and well and living in South America with Elvis, Janis and Jimi?
Point is more that Elvis, Janis and Jimi's music is among the greatest rock that is around, but there's still more groovy stuff being made. Lots of rock fans are missing it though and now think it's dead.
Indeed..in the heat of disscusion,I to can get wound up so to say..It just means your passionate about the subject..And dont get me goin on guitarists or muscle cars lol
:cheers2: Oh of course rock'n'roll is music to have a good time to....NO-ONE can deny THAT......but it's NOT frivolous music like some JUNK like disco music esp of the late 70s........sorry if someone is offended by this fact, but I didn't start the fire. :cheers2:
