When Even 911 Hangs Up On You, You're Screwed!

This is an incredible story. I lived in Houston for a short time while I was learning to hate the petrochemical industry. It's a modern city with a trolley system and impressive university hospitals. It's also packed tightly with people. So dense the city has 2 freeway rings (only some are tollways).

So for like 800 emergency 911 callers the operator just hung up on them? Didn't want to be bothered with them. And somehow nobody in the 911 call center noticed, for 6 months. How can this happen? And if there's so little oversight at this level of government, what horrors await the rest of us from higher in the political food chain?

You live in Texas and are surprised by the local insanity in their government? Since the governor of Texas suggested they should withdraw from the union I've been telling people we should let them do so and, only after a few years, go reclaim the territory after the Mexican cartels are through toying with them. That way we can claim its a humanitarian effort. The only states I know of with even more off-the-wall politics are Florida, Louisiana, and Arizona and I think it has something to do with sun baking their brains. One of the more outrageous stories to come out of Texas recently was a man who shot a hooker for attempting to steal his wallet. He was acquitted of murder charges and allowed to walk free despite being engaged in an illegal activity to begin with and killing her for a little over a hundred bucks.

 

The average 911 dispatcher lasts about 2 years on the job. It is not an easy job.

Not that I'm making excuses for this employee, she should have recognized that it wasn't the job for her before she applied to be the first contact for people in life threatening situations. And clearly the calls should be monitered on a regular basis.

 

911 is part of the system. Just like.the police. Not even close to perfect

 

A friend of mine was in Wisconsin or someplace when a local ghetto caught fire. The 911 operator started singing about it burning down to the tune of London Bridges Burning down. They don't want perfection, they just want the appearance of perfection like any lawyer might.

 

a lot of them are given the jobs thru welfare programs. what do you expect.

 

Nah, let's don't reclaim it...but we should probably build a wall along the US-Texas border. They'd want jobs eventually.

What I do, when I call 911, is I just call them 3 times. Cops come about 45 minutes later. Then 5 hours later, Michael Moore on TV tells me we should ban guns for civilians. In my opinion Michael Moore has this kind of developmentally disabled look to his bodily appearance.

 

Actually, Michael Moore is one of America's most avid preppers. Not only does he hoard food in the basement of his mansion, but he even hoards it on his actual person. Think about it. After a complete collapse of the economy and weeks of empty grocery shelves, he'll still be alive (as long as he can find water). Body fat is an investment in the future!!!

While that's true, it may be to his detriment. After the apocalypse, cannibals may see such a hefty man as an hefty meal, and with no gun to defend himself with, he's "dead meat".

 

Yeah i don't think Michael Moore is anti gun
If you watch Bowling for Columbine he points out how other countries also have a high rate of gun ownership and a much lower rate of gun related violent crime than America. He places the blame not on guns but on the fact that Americans are encouraged by the media to live in a perpetual state of fear.

I've always found it to be a thought provoking theory

 

When the world is ran by Nazis, we have no choice but to live in fear.
