"Wheelin' on Beale" by author Louis Cantor is an excellent piece of American history about WDIA the first all black radio station in Memphis Tenn. There is an introduction by BB King who started his career at WDIA. The film rights to this book were bought by Spielburg.

Louis Cantor is a Humes High graduate and was there with Elvis Presley, George Klein and a few others in the "Memphis Mafia". Louis is a professor of American history, a close friend, and a fellow hipster, and I highly recommend "Wheelin' on Beale" and also his next book "Dewey and Elvis" The Life and Times of a Rock and Roll Deejay. Enjoy.
