Red house. Voodoo Child an a second. Gloria as a third. All live versions.

I have a CD called "Blues".
I consider it to be one of the best commercial releases of his work.

I also have his full performance at Woodstock. Hypnotic to watch.

A good sound system is a must for any of the above. Your ipods would just blow up. :)

I'm not a huge fan of Hendrix..
but if I'd have to pick one song I'd say it would be Little Wing
even though I like SRV's version better

I can't narrow it down any more than that. lol
I love Jimi's music so much, he made the meanest blues ever and some of the most beautiful songs in the world.

Edit: And of course I prefer his live stuff over studio because he just jammed and his live stuff is so creative.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes it's stuff like Drivin south, Peace in Mississippi or Hear my train and long instrumental live jams, other times nothing feels better than Gypsy eyes, Voodoo child, Little wing or The wind cries Mary.

Hey man, Hey Joe was a timeless recording and just so happens to be not only my favorite Hendrix song but my favorite song of all times. So what? I listen to a lot of his music, this track just hit home with me. No need to be all haughty about things.

Especially the 7 minute instrumental version that can be found on youtube (I think someone posted that here not long ago). Such a gorgeous song and lyrics.
