I tried to make that list diverse, because I have a lot of favourite genres, and just chose a few from each.

 

my girlfriend was friends with the daughter of someone from ELO. i met her a couple times, and the first time we all tripped acid together - it was her mom's house though, not her ELO member dad's
i never really listened to ELO though

yea, that's pretty diverse. Opeth....and Radiohead one the same list

Dude, Radiohead is just about the only thing on that list that I wouldn't lump into "dark and 'different'" - I mean, I don't want to start a pissing match about how much your taste sucks to me (and probably the same in reverse), but it's definitely not diverse =P

Don't get me wrong though, Tool's fucking awesome and the Deftones definitely have a few good'nes but uh.. not diverse

Awh, don't be scared. I only bite people that are current mainstream =P

 

why would we laugh? That's a pretty solid list except I don't know what 'take that' is.

 

I would chuckle at the U2 if there were enough lame bands supporting it prolly. But I do agree, it's not a very attackable list because of the various strong talents. Even though I hate one, I can't disapprove of a list with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and REM
