My favorite would be Master of Reality. Black Sabbath had all their best albums in the early 70's. They are all great albums.

oh, since you edited it to restrict to the albums of the early 70s, I vote Black Sabbath.

their debut was recorded in a day or two. and they didnt even have enough songs so they just jammed stuff out alot.

    its a great album.

I think Master Of Reality is their best work, but I also love Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage...

... Also, Technical Ecstacy is a very under rated Sabbath album if you ask me.

Strange that everybody defend the paleolitic sabath with their not very original and not really creative riffs ... in their 3 early albums i found sabbath sometimes boring in some songs... This is a band who lack of musical building ...
There's great song in their early album but i listen always half of their album... i've got no time to loose .
Since Black Sabbath 4 to Sabotage...those 3 album are a lot more rich in creative diversity... those are my black sabbath summit

The best instrumental song that Black Sabbath did is on "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". It's called "Fluff".

I was listening to "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", it's a great album. Don't you notice that the first three Sabbath albums are similar but "Volume 4" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are different from the first three but are similar to each other. However Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is a great album, better than "Volume 4".

I found that the bass in the albums after Master Of Reality is completley muted...it really sucks, cause the bass in Sabbath albums were one my favorite parts of listening to Sabbath

The early 70's were fading into the mid 70's.

It's normal 'cause Butler took bass lessons in 72 and so their desitiny was changed .

I think albums like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage are saved by the fact that have a few of the great Sabbath songs on them... There are some filler tracks on those albums for sure..

I love that song "Sweet Leaf" from "Master Of Reality", That is a great album, so is the first album and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". But all the albums are great. It's very hard to chose but I picked "Master Of Reality".
