Early Lou Reed is awesome, but towards the latter stages of his career, he is trying to be Bowie. However, if Bowie does Lou, and Lou is doing Bowie, Lou is still doing Lou.....that is if u like Lou...lol

Not so much a song as it is an album...Plastic Ono Band....When I'm depressed it really helps.....Haunting Lennon lyrics at his best.

I attempt to "veg out" to Bob Dylan, one would think just a guy with a guitar and some poetry would be relaxing... but not so. I end up screaming and crying. (not really but you get it)

So my relaxing music is Bob Marley. Nice. Or the Beatles Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band . I have quite possibly listened to that album more times than any chick in the country. Not in the world, though, I thik there's still some 90-year-old in Russia who's got a couple more spins than I.
    But relaxing is over-rated anyways.

Tom Petty's It's Good to Be King (from the Wildflowers album) always seems to hit the spot (as does the rest of the album too). Lets see, what else...

As for Dylan, the entire album Blood on the Tracks is exceptional... off that album for veggin' out I'd pick Lilly Rosemary & the Jack of Hearts, Tangled Up in Blue, and Your a Big Girl Now, all very smooth and entertaining.

Speaking of Dylan, The Man in Me off of New Morning is excellent.

Sometimes to just relax you can't beat Simon and Garfunkel, I mean with lyrics like:

Slow down, you move tooo fast
    Gotta make the moment last...

How can you not? Favorites here, America, Homeward Bound, and the entire Bridge over Troubled Water album.

I love to hear "trippin' on a hole in a paper heart" when i'm depressed.
    Performed by Stone Temple Pilots
That song pulls me out from all the shit...
    I am, I am, I said I'm not myself
But I'm not dead and I'm not for sale...

if im really just trying to veg out anything smooth and jammy or just mellow is good. Just got out of a dylan kick, back into a jam tunes kick. Ive been trying to veg as much as possible lately, feeling worn out.

Ive been listening to some Grateful Dead and taking a warm bath with lavender oils. Its good stuff.
